I know its a little early for this but fuk it im excited!!! Most people will prolly say they would rather face Cleveland. But I'm not so sure, we have shown we can beat detroit on a number of occasions. (even tho Jamal has been a Piston killer and we will miss him in the playoffs) and Cleveland is playing well............... tough call, but we are only 1/2 game behind Indiana who will prob loose to minnesota tomorrow and surrender the 7th spot.
Knicks vs. Detroit. Bring em on
Knicks vs. Cleveland. Bring Lebron

i think DET & CLE pose bad matchups for the Knicks, but every other team in the East would make for an interesting series.

lol... if the Knicks are gonna be thoroughly embarassed the way they were vs. the Nets the last time they made the playoffs, then i almost would rather they not even make it to the playoffs... then again, it would be a wakeup call to some of the guys on this team as to how much harder they would need to work in the offseason to get up to the level of the elite teams in the NBA... didn't do much good after the Nets series though.

You're always better off by making the playoffs, even if you're swept. It'd be a trememdous experience for our young guys, and I think a playoff berth would make them mature more than anything else, especially mentally heading into the offseason. If we don't make the playoffs this season, then we'll probably just get swept the next time we do, so we need this learning lesson to happen NOW. No matter what, our guys have to work harder than ever this offseason, especially Eddy Curry.

I like Cavs.
Want to see LeBron show.

didn't do much good after the Nets series though.

how many younguns did we have back then to benefit from the learning process? Mike Sweetney. and Frank Williams. Both are gone now.

The new Knicks need the experience.

When it comes to Detroit, its not about their scorers and the fact that they don't have a go to guy. Its about them not letting us score.

Why are we even having this discussion ? Take some chill pills if you rather play Detroit and think things over.

but you have to factor in experience. this is the most experienced team besides the suns. they know how to win when they need to in the playoffs. true, that they do not dominate a series and will allow teams to hang around ( i don't think they have ever swept a team. they almost did with the lakers). but they play clamping defense and because you shut down rip or billups, don't disregard prince, wallace and c webb hitting key shots. it is all about if they are hungry or not. so far, i see they are so i think they will win the east ultimately.

I agree with everything you said. That's why I rather play Cleveland. You may have misread my post.

sorry, my bad. i thought u were agreeing w/ elite.

i'm not doubting they need experience... i'm just not sure that getting dominated in the 1st round by a much more superior team would do them any good... obviously it would at least give us some games to watch & keep us out of the lottery, which will be a positive, but as far as really helping these guys in their development, i dunno... they'd have to make a respectable showing IMO for them to get anything positive out of getting to the postseason... even if they get swept, if they play the other team tough & don't lay down & die like they did vs. the Nets, then i'd be fine with it.

just learning the intensity of the playoffs is a good experience. you gotta start somewhere. No sense waiting til we're a 50 win team and hitting the playoffs for the first time with the jitters et al.

we're not even a 40 win team yet... being rewarded by making the playoffs after finishing the season w/a 35-38 win record doesn't do much for the team's growth IMO... if anything, it gives them a false sense of accomplishment when in actuality they should be striving for much higher goals going forward.

whatever i guess... not giving up a lottery pick would be reason enough to root for it i guess.

Let's be real. The Knicks have NO Chance of beating the Pistons. I thikn Cleveland would be a great match-up. But let's please not jinx this playoff berth we still have 19 games left. Lee and Crawford might be out for the season. Let's focus on getting a streak going so we can distance are selves from the 8 spot hopefully move up to 6.

If we're making the playoffs, we're getting either the 7th or 8th seed.

What are the chances the Cavs take over the number 1 seed? Only 2 games back of Detroit with another head to head remaining.

What did getting bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs do for Mike Sweetney and Frank Williams a few years ago?

Sorry. Hey look, it's cool to be optimistic... but we're sweeping the Cavs? I think the board would throw a party if we took the Cavs to 7 games, let alone beat them... or SWEPT them. Don't you think it's a little soon for a below .500 team to even think about a sweep... ever?

Well why didn't you just say that in the first place.

Do you dispute that the CAVS are awful? Why can't we sweep them? What have they shown you this year to make you think they're good? Who do they have other than LeBron?

Yes. Dude. You're a fan of a 29-34 team and you're saying that a team that has a MUCH better record than us could get swept by *US* in the first round. Do you dispute that the KNICKS are awful? Why can't the CAVS sweep us? What have the Knicks shown you this year to make you think they're good? Who do they have other than Mardy Collins?
