What amazes me is how people just can't bring themselves to give this guys some credit. He may not be a perfect coach, but he's found a way to get this team to be successful no matter who is out. That is a HUGE feather in his cap. He hasn't asked for pity and he's gotten this team to respond. It's not always pretty, but they've been VERY competitive, even with all these injuries.

Someone here wrote that our depth was exaggerated... well that turns out to be wrong. Isiah has found just enough to win with and having all this talent has actually been a guard against injury.

Actually, there are teams out there hurting more than we are. Look at the Nets for instance:

I'll never trust this' team again.

They won because the Wiz are stupid and Jordan did a bad job coaching them at the end of the game.
How can you say that? The Knicks hung in there with the Wizards all game long and won it in the closing seconds. Eddie might have missed a call on defense at the end of the game but how about giving them credit for the entire game? Its baby steps. They are on the right track.

You're an idiot.

Hey eVIL? You called me out for saying a post was dumb. Where's the forum police now? This is worse that my comment.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

yeah, i agree Silver... the stat that showed the Knicks record improving every month this season is encouraging... even if they don't make the playoffs this year, i think it's fair to say there's been positive progress, which really is the only goal i had coming into this season for this team... now hopefully they can get D Lee & Q Rich back healthy & they can make some noise down this stretch run... it's been a long time since we've seen some meaningful basketball this late in the season.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I still think this team has no direction. and that the roster isn't very good, and that this team's ceiling is too low. I do really want them to make the playoffs though. that would be a cool way to stick it to the league for not giving us any nationally televised games.

it's ridiculous to think what ESPN and the like were saying at the beginning of this season. some were saying we'd less games than we won last year without Brown's "leadership." most were saying we'd win 25 games at most and we'd be giving the Bulls Oden. Such BS.

I'm not sure about the team's overall direction - I have a lot less faith in them without Lee playing out there. But I think we can get another good young player in the draft this year, the Bull's pick won't be very high - I wouldn't be surprised to see the Heat pass them in the standings.

It'd be nice to use Frye and Nate to either balance the team out more or get a higher pick in the draft. I think the team can make moves this summer. Right now, the focus should be make sure Lee is healthy and then make a run for the playoffs.

well I predicted 38 wins and narrowly missing the playoffs before this season began, but hey if I turn out to be wrong about the playoffs than, I can't exactly complain .

I'm not really worried about the bulls swap thing either. right now we'll wind up with something around the 22 pick. that's around where Isiah picked lee, and balkman so even though it isn't a very high pick in general there's still reason to be excited about it.

Still though I have concerns. I still don't really see how this team turns into a championship caliber team.

I have concerns, too. I still think the best case scenario is to let the young'uns develop and try to make a big move either A) when Francis and Marbury expire and we have cap room or B) trade their expiring contracts the season before.

Also, Frye and Nate have value around the league and I think we could get either a higher pick or a piece that made a lot more sense for the team.

I think Isiah needs to just build through the draft until then. no more MLE's, unless it's something really special. no more "my crap" for "your crap" trades.

yeah I think Isiah's already said that he isn't going to make anymore trades like that. but I just don't think Isiah has what it takes to assemble a very good roster. but, when Riley traded for antoine walker, jason williams and all those guys I thought he actually made the heat worse by ruining the chemistry by trading for more talented but less fitting players, but they actually won the championship, so it's not like my predictions are always right or anything.

Isles is a knicks fan, but he has compromised himself as a knicks fan for his hate for Isiah Thomas. As long as Isiah is apart of the Knicks he will bash the Knicks. If Larry Brown took over everything and Isiah was out. He wouldn't bash the knicks as much as he deos now. He would either start bashing any players who don't kiss Browns ass. Or he would just bash Isiah in comparison to Brown.

Isles is the type of person who makes wins feel better for those who dissagree, and losses feel worse for those who dissagree.

I don't think this thread is about the Knicks
Should be in OT: section. Like something about KNick fans
If somebody expects Knicks to be great he will be dissapointed and if somebody expect Knicks suck he will be dissapointed too.
We have a product which will bring attension to almoust each game - they will not dominate and will not blow. They are just mediocer and this is waht IT WANT to create and what Dolan WANT from him.
We can ptobably enjoy this "one win one lose" Knicks for years to come.
If somebody likes this he can prise IT. If somebody don't he can bash him.
Personally I am lost - Knicks became a nice entertainment but what about greatness? Do we need it?

Hey man the Nets still have enough to win with. I don't see anyone who would've given us any slack due to injury, so to hell with them and their injuries. Just freaking man up and win. It's funny how Isiah get's crapped on for his moves and yet look at Indy and all the moves Bird has made. Is Orlando really in better shape as a franchise? I mean there are HUGE questions about Boston too. It's just more Hater-aide for Isiah. The guy is working as hard as he can with this team.

We know it's not a perfect team. I don't recall anyone expecting it to be this year or last year. It's not about RIGHT NOW! When are the fans gonna realize this. It's not supposed to happen over night. GEEEZ!!! When this season is over we will have at least accomplished a few goals we had in mind to start the year. That's progress and i'm willing to accept it. To say that this team isn't making progress simply because it's up and down is silly. Just remember that while all the other teams have had long win streaks, we never did, but we HAVE been playing at about a .500 clip so we're like the tortoise and the other teams the Hare. They started off strong, but now they're faltering. We're actually getting stronger gradually even with all the injuries. LIke many often say injuries are a part of this, so don't give me that we're being handed anything. The other teams aren't stepping up and we are. PERIOD!

Ark - you am lost that is true. Do we need nice entertaynmunt? Of cors we does. Do we need Greatness? We need a great magishun to make Davud Lee leg feel better and a therapust to walk on Quinton's back so he feel better too.

I also think it am great Nix have good young guys who ain't scared of nuffin.

Islesfan, YOU have become IRRELEVENT. How about that? Your jokes and hateful barbs have no merit any longer. The Knicks have been fighting hard all year and yet you WHO CLAIM to be a fan, haven't even given them one ounce of praise, or support and now you're stuck. You're on the outside looking in. Now you can go root for the Nets or some other team, cuz you've given up your claim on the Knicks. So go back into your hole and leave the REAL fans to enjoy the team.

His merit is as good as who fights the same fight. You can count me in to Nix. We're realist's! We have higher standards of talent. For crying out loud dudes, your happy with this performance, from this team? We are five games under .500, tied for the 8th playoff spot because of a gift division. It's being handed to us and your jumping the gun over one' game?! How could you possibly be satisfied with that?! Mind boggling!!!

So leave the REAL fans to enjoy the team? You enjoy this up and down crap, with question marks all over it? Gooooooooood luck!!!

We are enjoying improvement. No one said that this is where we want the Knicks to stay, but you have to start somewhere. I think we are finally seeing the beginning of a new start with a young team. There are still rough times ahead and trades and FA signing will need to be made to get us to the next level, but we have a team of good young players that will grow and improve. As this team grows, these players will learn to win more close games and take care of the ball. The future is not set, but at least now there is a future for this team.

This is so true. Bird and McHale have to be two of the worst GM's in the league and yet they get no grief. In fact, McHale is listed number #1 by Forbes. Unbelievable!
