On the way out the door
March 9

It was a quick practice today because the Knicks have to hustle to the airport. Their charter is dropping them off in Washington, then coming back to pick up the Rangers and ferry them to Pittsburgh.

David Lee really doesn’t know where he stands because there wasn’t much of an opportunity to push the sore leg. It sounds like the Knicks will go another game without their leading rebounder.

According to a report in the Daily News, the organization was on the verge of a $30 million buyout agreement with Steve Francis before Jamal Crawford got hurt.

The sudden need for a capable scorer apparently ended the conversation.

“The only thing I can say about any buyout talk is, that type of conversation has never, ever taken place,” Knicks president and coach Isiah Thomas said. “It never happened.”

Francis also denied the report.

“A what?” he said.

A buyout.

“I ain’t heard nothing,” Francis said.

So there weren’t any negations?

“Not at all,” Francis said. “Nothing.”

earl i am convince your someones brother on this team, or isiah himself you never make any relevant points your just a deflector

Its very deep, when you have someone that doesn't know a thing about constructing a team which is mind boggling when you played the game and were an alltime great, you have little to no eye for good talent, and give away money to losers that are content with being mediocore its a big deal. Not to mention he sabatoged Lenny, treated Chaney like garbage and has run this team into the ground with careless moves

Look, I don't like that Steve Francis wouldn't mind his role and ride pine with a smile on his face, but whatever. The way I look at it, the Knicks got a former All-Star in his prime on fresh legs for the playoff run. Considering the team sucked without his services, maybe this leads to an improvement in W-L.

MS - did you say something?

>>Its very deep, when you have someone that doesn't know a thing about constructing a team which is mind boggling when you played the game and were an alltime great, you have little to no eye for good talent...

MS - no eye for good talent? That is patently and completely false. Curry, Balkman, Collins, Crawford, Frye and Lee are good enough (and young) talent to build around. Ariza is proving worth in Orlando before the injury. Hell, even Ime Udoka gets some minutes.

>>and give away money to losers that are content with being mediocore its a big deal.

MS - the only losers are the people who bitch and moan daily like clockwork.

>>Not to mention he sabatoged Lenny, treated Chaney like garbage and has run this team into the ground with careless moves

MS - such drama.

If the Knicks are such a disaster, why are they still in contention or a playoff spot despite missing FOUR players over the past two weeks?

Help me out here, why do you bother to watch if the Knicks are so repulsive?

Isiah also said he was more than willing to lie when it suited him.

Only a complete idiot would take the word of an admitted liar.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
