joec - no such thing as a easy win in professional sports.

In the NBA, winning by twenty is not the objective when you're mising five guys.

The Hawks have some players that simply haven't established a consistent rhythm. But Joe Johnson, Josh Smith and Marvin Williams do not suck.

I didn't say easy win, but this is the games that this Knicks team must win. No JJ, Smith and Williams do not suck. BUt the Knicks are deeper. They have more talent. They match up very well against them. This is a game this team is supposed to win and must win.

We lost Lee, Q, and Crawford, three of our top-6 players, and you think we should have beat the Hawks by more ON THEIR HOME COURT. Any away win in the NBA is a good win because it is hard to get those wins, especially for a middle of the pack team like the Knicks.

I understand that, but after Joe Johnson, the Hawks next best offensive player is Josh Smith. Williams will be good but is not there yet.

Are you telling me that we don't have more depth and more skill in

Marbury, Francis, Frye, Curry, Balkman, and Jefferies? The Hawks have the best player in Joe Johnson, but they have absolutely noone else who can beat you or are even close to a dependable offensive player.

Is the delicate balance of finding, and cohering, adeqaute combinations more delicate than any of us assume?

>>Channing Frye is again the Knicks' starting power forward and apparently will remain there. "I like the look of it," Thomas said. "It gives us a little bit more of punch at the start of the game." The Knicks need Frye's shooting ability to offset the loss of Jamal Crawford and to compensate for Jared Jeffries, who is not a scorer. Thomas started Jerome James for 10 games, then used Malik Rose for one game before reinstating Frye on Friday.

Did someone say "Start David Lee?...."

Frye should have been starting even before Crawford went down. And Lee should have been starting at SF. These aren't minute to minute decisions. Isiah is late with many of his moves and his coaching is suffering for it.

When then Knicks have as much talent as those Celtics teams, your comparison may almost be apt.

We have talented players but so do the Hawks. Johnson, Smith, Childress, and Williams can all play basketball and are good defenders. The Hawks were playing their full team and we were playing a patch job of a lineup due to all the injuries. If your point is simply that we should have won the game, I agree that we should have. But if your point is that we should have dominated, I just don't see how you could expect the Knicks to blow out the Hawks in their building with the injuries we had. We did not play perfect, but it was a good road win. Give props where props are due.

I don't think, at this stage, we can even say we should beat anyone on the road when we're banged up and playing back to back games.

Francis & Marbury looked better than they have the past 2 years... almost gives me hope that those 2 could learn to play together & carry this team someplace... but i'll wait to see them do it against the Pistons, Cavs or Bulls before i believe it.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I am giving credit where it's due. They played hard, and showed heart. And it shouldn't have been that hard.
