let's look at some recent "quick" turnarounds:

1. nash in pheonix
2. kidd in nj
3. paul in new orleans
4. tj/calderon in toronto
5. and to a more recent and lesser extent, andre in philly

teams that changed their fortunes quickly with the addition of a true, team oriented, get everybody involved point guard.

we need a point guard.

We don't need a point guard. We have everything we need.

That's what Isiah said. He likes this team. He wouldn't change a thing. It'll just take this group 3-4 years to "get it" and then they'll wake up a championship contender.

So obviously Isiah needs a 3-4 year extension. You can't really judge him at all until he's been here 7-8 years, considering what he inherited.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

thomas is a fine coach. he got us two extra wins so far. thomas might be here for 15 years. I can't wait for him to sign Frye to a six year, 40 million dollar contract. worth every penny to.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Acie Law looks like a darn good player who can play PG--but I dont think we have a chance in heck to get him.

2 most important positions on the court are Center and PG.

Unless you have a Jordan or Bird.

A PG is supposed to anchor the offense, and a Center is supposed to anchor the defense.

Perfect example?

Cousy and Russell.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I was listening to ESPN Gamenight on the Radio and they said some interesting stuff about college.

1-They said Acie Law is not the best pure PG in college. They said the kid from UCLA-Darren Collison was. Said Acie was much more of a tweener 1/2.

2-They actually said Oden may not have been the best center in college-The nod went to Aaron Gray of Pitt. for them. Said Oden was a better center prospect for the NBA. Nick Fazekas was also on the conversation but he was considered more of a PF.

3-They both believed Oden's wrist is hurt more than is being let on.

I think this team as currently constructed needs to address the frontcourt primarily. If the philosophy changes yet again and builds the team totally around the youth then the primary need would be a point gaurd.

But look at how bad the backcourt is. They're either old, breaking down and on the downside of their careers or they just stink.

3 1/2 years and Isiah still hasn't found a young guard to build with.

I still say Crawford would make a very good starting PG - he plays much more under control when he's running the team solo and not co-piloting with Marbury.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Wouldn't want the board to think I was going crazy all by myself.

you know i've been on board w/u on that from the beginning... you at least have 2 other crazies on the forums just like you.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
