Simply put, Isiah wants to be the players' friend rather than their boss.

He does not hold the players accountable when they lose games they should win. Following a bad loss to a bad team, he'd rather say, "Don't worry about it. We have a game in two nights to worry about" rather than say "From now on, anyone who does not want to give 100 percent all of the time will sit." He'd rather credit the other team for shooting 58 percent and hitting 12 of 19 3-pointers than disparage his own team's pathetic defense.

I've been saying all season: On this team, the whole does not equal the sum of the parts, and that generally means the coach sucks.

Isiah does not make the team one bit better than it should be, and only serves to add to its ridiculous inconsistency.

BTW, if my math is accurate, in 14 of our last 15 games, we have either followed a win with a loss, or a loss with a win. That's fairly astonishing, and just reaffirms this thread's point.

Knicks are a couple games under .500 against the west, winning teams, playoff teams in the east..... the knicks are .200 against the bottom of the east.

You can act like some A-hole like Islefan and talk like you some fatherly punishment speech is the reason for this, but I have personally never seen a team that could win that many games against quailty teams and be that bad against teams they should beat up on.

I would say they need a leader and I blame Marbury for that.

I'm not sure how being an a-hole, with some fatherly punishment speech fits into what you said. I don't know whether to think of that as an insult, or lines of priase, or some kind of strange agreement. It's almost contradictory.
I'll never trust this' team again.

YOu can say it's Isiah fault for bring Marbury here or not bring other leader players in, I don't care... he is the GM. Not trying to defend Isiah.

Team still needs a leader and Marbury has head-butted and got into wars with teammates and coaches like he was that guy. That's why I say I blame him for not being a leader. That's in his control.

Does everything have to be a Isiah piss-off????

The real fault lies in the laps of we, the fans. And Dolan is a reflection of that.
I'll never trust this' team again.

So I will ask the question. If this team, this franchise and all of it's component's aren't about winning, building a future, then what in the world are they in this for? This whole thing has become so depressing, so boring that I am going to push for a whole new change. I know most of you make sense. When we're where winning, I could see it in your writings, so the same it true on the other end.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think its the leadership thing too. and also I think it's more Isiahs fault than marburys. marybury was never at any point in his career a leader. so Isiah must have known that when he traded for him.

djsu - you know, I kinda like Mardy. He reminds me of a 6'6 Chollie Ward.

Where do you think his game will be in two years?

(if that ain't a set-up, I don't know what is)

i don't know yet. the guy does have a calmness about him. and i also think he has a little "prick" side to him as well. reminds me of frank williams (although i think frank's better).

with that said, i don't know if he'll be in the league in 2 years (like frank) but we'll see. he has good size and is easily our best defensive guard. might as well play him more minutes to see what we have. it's tough to throw a seldomly played rook into a playoff race and expect him to produce.

You mean like Bruce Bowen, Jason Kidd, Dirk or Steve Nash?

I'm just glad Orlando lost.

What does this have to do with the topic of this thread? Oh yeah -- nothing.

The knicks have no leader, no coach..this team loves to be 20 pts down and then react...I just don't get it..

“It was a different feel out there,” said Curry, who finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds. “Man, you don’t know how much you miss somebody until they’re gone.”

More Informed analysis

you decide:

>>Frankly it falls on Isiah who sucks!

OR

"...Crawford, their No. 2 scorer, probably needs surgery. Someone else will have to set up Curry and someone else will need to complement Stephon Marbury’s playmaking."

Do inquiring minds think about what they see, or do thet resort to personal insults as a sign of their basketball intelligence?

This question goes beyond last night's game and the injuries and whatnot -- this is a season long problem.

Why, Earl, with all your deep insight and knowledge of the team, can't the Knicks sustain success?

Actually I watch the game and see all jefferson a late first round pick making eddy look like a little boy out there and eddy stagnant on offense because he couldn't do anything or even get the right position to score the ball.

If your entire future was put into a player who was huffing and puffing last night, and needs to lose weight in the worst way, can't deliever the goods when you need him to do, much like he didn't deliever when we needed wins vs the nets, i don't think you can be optimistic about this team especially when everyone else in the conference is getting better. Not to mention we gave up four picks for the kid two of them would have got us solid starters, something we are missing.

And if you want to keep your head up your ass and be positive about the job isiah is doing when this team that has no professional success as a whole takes the first quarter off and then has to charge back every game instead of just coming out strong. Perhaps it was because Jerome James is not starting anymore, another brilliant idea

Why Does This Team Struggle To String Together Consecutive Wins?

because they're a mediocre team at this point... they play up to better teams & play down to lesser teams... this isn't the first Knicks team i've seen that's had this problem... lacking any shotblocking presence down low hurts also, especially in the stretch of games where you must get a stop.

How can you have a $130 mil team and be entirely dependent on a mediocre player like Jamal?
