You are so right....I tell you this though..I rather see him with the ball than to see Craw...And even if he is off, he can penetrate..i think Craw is more willing to settle for the jumper than Marbs...I think it's all confidence with Marbs...He can keep us in more games than Craw can...

I think it's mainly about his health. When he's feeling spry he's more aggressive. He had a nice stretch a little earlier in season and then he tweaked the Knee. Since then he's been up and down. He WANTS to do more, but I think he's just trying to pace himself. Tonight he did it right. He waited until we needed him.

Thats all I'm asking Marbs to do...Show up and play like you know how to play...He doesn't have to be JKidd or Steve Nash...Just take over the game like we know you can in crunch time...

THANKS MARBS...THATS ALL I'M ASKING!!!...

He happened to be "on" tonight. Many games he attempts to take over and he's off. We get distant floaters, bad threes, "heat checks", desperate attempts to draw contact, bad passes, dribbles off his foot, etc, and it can kill our momentum.

But tonight it did work and he looked good doing it. There was a point in the game where I could see he was in good form. He missed something easy, might have been the technical, and he came back to the bench somewhat smiling. What a relief to not have to see that glum, sourpuss expression and towelhead all the time. And with the mutiny off his teammates seem more tolerant of him too.

You are so right....I tell you this though..I rather see him with the ball than to see Craw...And even if he is off, he can penetrate..i think Craw is more willing to settle for the jumper than Marbs...I think it's all confidence with Marbs...He can keep us in more games than Craw can...

Perhaps, but his legs just seemed fresher tonight than they have in a while. He was quicker, his crossover more deceptive, his lift higher, his shot crisper.

So the difference with Crawford is there's no game you can count him out at the end, while with Marbury there are games you just know it ain't coming from him. I guess if they, or Isiah, can recognize the games Marbury doesn't have it and can channel him out and go to Crawford or Curry we might have a strategy.

The thing is, I think that is what Isiah does. In his post game comments he took credit for telling Steph he was hot and to keep going for it. The problem is how few games like that there are anymore. Hence the over reliance on Crawford.

Anyway, your point is taken. We need leadership from Marbury and tonight we got it. The reduction in his dourness is a welcome change and a step in the right direction. Lets hope his body is capable of an equal uptick.

gotta give him props... he took charge last night when the team needed a lift... after Zo's dunk on Curry where he put up his finger to the fans to quiet them down, Marbury came right back & drove into Zo to get the layup... that was great... he was awesome from that point on... good job Marbs... wish you could do that every night, but for 1 night i'll take it.

I only read through the first five posts in this thread but the last one I read was something about wishing that Steph would get into people's faces more if they do something stupid. But...if Steph did that we'd all hear about how he's a cancer and a horrible team mate and he should focus on his own problems before he gets on other players. If he leads by example, he should be more vocal. If he's vocal, he should lead by example more. Through last year, everyone whined about how Steph was a ball hog and he should distribute the ball more. Quit looking for your own shot, we all said. Pass the damn ball. Now, Steph passes more, takes 8 shots and we lose, and it's "God damnit, Marbury, why don't you know that you're the most efficient offensive weapon we've got. You're the only one who can take over a game, why don't you do it once in a while." Steph used to score over 40 a handful of games per year, and most of the time his team won those games. Against the Lakers in 00-01, Steph dropped a career high 50 points, to go along with 12 assists. But everyone got on his case about changing his game and told him to quit holding on to the ball so much. Now we want it in his hands more. We're wondering why we've only seen one 40 point game this year (which was brilliant). The criticism is ridiculous. Does anybody realize it?

It's a balanced approached that needs to be achieved..Steph to a fault defers when he is the best option at critical times in the game...There are times when he need to involved others and when he needs to win the game...No one here ever heard me say Steph was too selfish last year...But if you are a good player, forget being a point guard, and the most important player on the team, you have to know when it's time to step up...Not a difficult concept...

in order to have the ability to get in guy's faces you have to first lead by example... Marbury's finally doing that this year... he's beginning to be a little more vocal as a leader i noticed, & guys are starting to listen because they see him busting his butt playing defense for a change... before, he could say something to someone & it would go in 1 ear & out the other cuz no one respects a guy who isn't willing to practice what he's preaching.

i got your point... ur trying to defend Marbury saying people are telling Marbury to play a certain way & when he finally starts to do it, they find another reason to get on his case... if you've been reading some of my posts lately you'd see that i've been giving the guy plenty of props for how he's played this year... i was responding to Marbury's role as a leader on this team.
