I think you got it WAY wrong.

Crawford and QRich have value.

Jefferies isn't impossible to move.

The rest I agree about though.

agreed... i'd put Malik in the "Albatross" category way before i put Q or Jamal in there... at least those guys are still steady contributors.

TMS, bobs:

I put the contracts in order of Albatrossity with Crawford and Q on the bottom because they have pretty lengthy contracts ( 4 years for Q, 5 for Craw) and they'll be getting paid 9-10 Million those last years.

I wasn't trying to imply they don't contribute but it seems like it would be hard to move those contracts for another player, no?

Perhaps I should have put them in "The Rest" though...

I know San Antonio is an extreme example because they seem to be amongst the best in the League at managing their cap but take a look at what some of their players are getting paid:

http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/san_antonio.htm

Tony Parker makes a slight bit more at the end of his contract but he's awesome. Would you rather be paying Manu or Q?

We could be paying Jackie Butler about half or less than half what Jerome James is getting with a shorter contract. But despite the heated arguments on the board, atleast everyone agrees that was probably Isiah's biggest mistake as a GM. Every GM is allowed a few I suppose...

I just really wish the Knicks could find bargains more often and stop giving players way more money and years than the market shows they are worth...

Nothing against Q though. I've liked him since his days in LA. He's the least of the Knicks current problems.

the cap situation is what it is... none of us are defending Isiah's mismanagement of the cap situation... at least, i know i never have... all i've ever said was that some of the players on this team are not half as bad as most of you would make it appear to be w/your daily moanings & groanings (not singling you out dude... just saying in general)... this team is a ways from being a contender, but there are some positive signs out there to be had.

& i disagree about Jamal & Q... i think both those guys would be upgrades to what these teams have starting at the SG position right now:

Charlotte (Matt Carroll)
Indiana (Mike Dunleavy)
New Orleans (Devin Brown)
Orlando (Grant Hill)
Toronto (Anthony Parker)
Utah (Derek Fisher)
Washington (DeShawn Stevenson)

Upgrades but at what expense? Jamal's in the middle of a 7 year, $56 mil contract. You can get about equally effective players for the MLE if not less than the MLE.

Where is this notion that crawford is so young come from he is 26 and this is his 6th season in the nba and he hasn't shown movement, i really would try to move him to LA or Miami for expiring deals he could really help those teams scoring the ball and get rid of a contract that will help us down the road

I actually think the Francis/Marbury situation isn't that bad. After this season, they have 2 more years left, so by next trading deadline, I can totally see them having some value, especially if they can stay somewhat healthy, and keep their heads on their shoulders.

Q, on the other hand, I think has no trade value whatsoever. I love the guy, but with the number of years he has left on his uninsured contract, there's no way teams would want to take a risk on him and his back problems.

I can see some teams being interested in Jared if they need a guy to play a little defense off the bench and fill the lanes and block off the passing lanes and whatnot, but he wont exactly net us anything great.

Jamal is a young and healthy and talented guard. I'm sure that there are plenty of teams who will want to give him a go.

No one is interested in Jefferies especially since Isiah the genius that he is included a trade kicker

How has managed to use expiring deals and midlevel contracts to add (Jefferies, James, Francis, Q) that can't be moved in a year and a half. Mind boggling......

Q doesn't have a ton of value because of his back otherwise we could move him....

i can't possibly answer that question... it all depends on what those teams are willing to give up & what the Knicks are willing to take back... only the GM's for each team can answer that one... all i'm saying is Jamal & Q have value & aren't untradeable albatross contracts... not sure what MLE SG's you could get that are better than Jamal or Q though... i'm talking about guys that will be available in the offseason... i'm sure there might be a couple out there, but you make it sound like there are guys who can average 18 ppg like Jamal or have an all around type game like Q growing on trees in the NBA... i don't see it.
