Funny, Big z is kind of "soft" like our eddy and needs a bruiser to make hiim effective. I think Cavs thing the Brazilian kid Varereo (sp) can fill that role. This is how its done by the way, grow your own and trade excess marketable talent. Its not how we do it!

Ok, if we trade for gooden, they we are duplicate with Lee. Lee has market value so he could go.

I prefer to think of Frye "Threatening" to be an allstar and fulfill his promise but he might be the wrong guy for us to pair with Curry. Gooden fills that niche well.

I love David Lee also, but I might agree that Jeffries fills the bill better because he can guard 3 positions.

Add nate as trade sweetner and Malik/Jerome/Francis for contract filler and we might be able to do some trading. For what, this I don't know.

At least Isiah is in a position of strength for trades.

But then we go away from "building" and more into "starphuching" to win with short term aspirations rather than doing it right. Sound familiar?

While I understand Gooden, it might dismantle our youth.

Is a front line of Eddy, Gooden and Artest with Marbury/craw a good starting lineup? On paper it very well could. But we all know that "paper" always looks better than reality! Artest is way too big a gamble. I'd trade Malik/Nate for him, not much more!

If Isiah seriously trades for Drew Gooden or Ruben Patterson, I will be one VERY pissed of person. Getting both of those guys are lateral moves. We don't need lateral moves.

how do you mean? what's wrong with lateral moves? i see the gooden move as one that can balance our frontcourt a bit- gooden's not a great defender, but he can complement eddy better than channing can IMO.

Why do you need Gooden when you have Lee. They are the same player. That's lateral.

Nalod are you on drugs......JJ guarding three positions, have you watched him he has all to do to guard one, i don't really think we are in a strong position to make trades he has managed to put together a roster almost as untradable as layden......

You can't move Marbury, Francis, Q, Rose, James, Jefferies who has a trade kicker?

Also Curry is a question mark because of his heart, and Crawford is owed a good deal of money...

He has basically done what Layden has done only the team is exciting and athletic and doesn't really have that much room to improve with no space or tradable assets....Frye last year could have got us a ton, but this year its up in the air

i guess i disagree on that (always kind of liked gooden but realize he's not amazing), but i see what you're saying. i would have called it "redundant" rather than "lateral" to make that kind of trade.

I suppose you're right, I could have chosen some better wording. Either way, I don't want any part of Drew Gooden and his contract, unless as someone said earlier if it nets us Larry Hughes, which just isn't going to happen.

We'll have to agree to disagree I guess.

if gooden and lee are similiar players what is the problem? Lee brings it every night. Gooden has a lot of tags on him but the dude flirts with a double double every night. He has a lee like motar also. So what exactly is the problem?

As far as Patterson, the dude is a idiot. A idiot that can play this game well. He fills a need and he is outspoken. He's old but the knicks need his experience.

Artest? The guy is good but not as good as he thinks he is.

Anyway, if all three guys we're on the knicks right now the knicks are a contender.

Gooden does two things bery well, score and rebound. He's got a long jumper, he's very athletic and he cleans the glass and can start a break. Whats the package though?

Gooden would fit great beside Curry. I think by the deadline both Artest and gooden will be Knicks.

Why would Gooden fit great beside Curry? How are we getting Artest?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
