Frye makes Lee look like Rodman on D
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I agree that Frye's and Curry's defense is poor...If anyone here talks about their good defense, I will then say they are wrong too...But to be fair, Frye's defense is better than Lee's...I don't understand how you can look at last night game and say it decent...Then you are always saying the people who Lee should not be guarding...Another guy was telling me Lee should not be expected to guard anyone on the perimeter...Come on...

Listen man, I'm not absolving Lee. Im saying if hes in the game what do you want him to do? Isiah SHOULD not have had him guarding Okur, because Lees defense isn't good, ESPECIALLY on guys that play outside like Okur does. I think Lee is a decent defender when he defends on the inside where he can bang. I'm not calling him great, I'm not calling him above average. I'm calling him average. Last night, Balkman or someone else shoulda been in the game hounding Okur. What else do you want me to say? I've already said Lee's defense isn't good. I do NOT think Frye is a better defender, I think they are both average to below-average.

Were you in the bathroom when Okur was taking him in the post...Look Lee is not to blame for the loss but please don't try to paint a picture of him being a "decent" defender..

Holfresh Lee is a below average defender, and Frye is a terrible defender and rebounder. IT doenst trust Frye or JJ.

I think Lee is an Ok defender on the post. He had five fouls(three of them were total Bull****) and Okur posting anybodyon our team should get a double team. But I would have rathered Okur be guarded in the last 4 minutes by Balkman to take away the three ball and give up a couple of two point baskets. Refs still robbed the knicks though.

I don't usually agree with you Anji, but I do here. Holresh has a vendetta against Lee and will disparage him any chance he gets. No one is saying Lee is a good defender, but he's not dreadful. He can play the post decently, but he DOES get killed outside. Theres no way Lee should ever be guarding anyone on the perimeter. Ever.

The problem with Lee, and it can't really be fixed, is that he's a tweener. He's too big and slow to defend the 3 and he's not big enough to defend the 4. Because of his effort and rebounding you live with it but you're going to get burned every now and then with bad matchups.

Of course it's up to the head coach to limit those bad matchups. Thanks for nothing Isiah.

And when he's paired with Curry, he's forced to cover for the sloth which causes him to get out of position every now and then.

The simply fact is Lee has to guard somebody if he is going to play. For weeks, all I have been seeing is statements like "Lee should be playing 42 minutes a game." Then IT plays him and puts him on Okur, a guy Lee should be able to guard even on the perimeter, and Lee's lack of defense contributes to the loss, and the first thing people say is it was IT's fault for playing Lee. I don't think it is too much to ask you athletic PF to guard a center on the perimeter. Lee just did not play good defense on Okur. It was a mistake and it happens and he will get better. However, if you are going to berate IT for not playing Lee (and nyk4ever I am not saying it was you) then you can't also blame IT for Lee not being able to guard someone that he clearly should have been able to handle. Now I will say that any defense that has Lee guarding an atlethic scoring SF on the perimeter for any significant length of time is flawed and IT should be blamed for that.
