No way!! .500 ball?!?! That's freaking awesome!!! And now Curry is making demands after this impressive 2 game winning streak?!? That's awesome!!!

Seriously, STFU already.

Islesfan you need to cool it with the STFUs. It detracts from your view no matter how wrong it is.
Peace.

STFU

lol

Yeah that was a good one!

no. Please do calm down with the "STFU". Nothing wrong with disagreeing but enough already with those types of remarks. thanks.

Holfresh, IF Isiah doesn't make any signings between now and the end of 2009 then you are right, we will be under the cap, but that is a BIG IF.

Also, we might have to package the JJs with Frye got get rid of their money to make a serious run at a big free agent..that why I'm such a proponent of doing nothing and try to develop the talent...If Curry, Frye, and Lee improves...We make a trade to free some money, we could really make a splash..I'm just hoping this is Isiah's plan...And you are right it's a big if...But the fact that Isiah hasn't done anything yet is encouraging...

Lets call the bobcats see if they will do a Crawford/Nate sign and trade for Gerald Wallace......Or offer them Lee/Frye/Nate/Crawford for Okafur and Wallace we make those deals Isiah has a pass....

I would send Crawford to Miami in a heartbeat for James Poseys expiring deal. If Isiah didn't **** up on every move he has pretty much ever made we would have a nice shot at a good player with our expiring deals......

If anything this is a point for the haters, since most of us think that you can't build a winning team around a big man who moves out of the way when the other team's player enters the lane so he won't foul out.

Hope Dolan realizes that Isiah and Ey "No D" Curry are scamming him.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Holfresh, I agree with most of what you said. I don't think IT has made more good moves than bad moves though; at most, his good and bad moves even out. But I do see improvement in the team and recognize that the core of this team, sans Marbury, is very young. I would not give IT a two year commitment, but I would give him one more year to see what the team can do. I would expect the team to get to 42-46 wins next year and make the playoffs, with the hope that we can add some more pieces before next year's trading deadline to really increase the talent and eliminate the redundancies on the team.

The Isiah way is to hope that you can use the MLE and other teams overvaluing our one dimensional role players in the trade market.

The way i see it, the team we had during the Layden daze was never going to be bad enough to finish consistently in the bottom 5 but never good enough to be more than an 8 seed.

And so you make fun of the Isiah way, when your way is what? Keep the four draft picks we used on Curry and Marbury? Who then does the drafting? The knicks had been the worst drafters pre-Isiah. We'd have nobody the other team would have to think about double-teaming and we'd end up slowly getting worse and worse. A fate worse than death.

Or maybe your way was to blow it all to pieces. The only GOOD alternative approach was to blow everything up We would have more talented youth than just if we had kept the same old team. But we never got to see that alternative and thats not Isiahs' fault. I believe Isiah was brought it to make the team exciting again, not necessarily to be a bottom-feeding dreg for three years.

Anyone can GM the blow-up. Why was Isiah hired then? Answer: Dolan never wanted to blow everything up.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Haters Hate...simple enough. They seem to hate so much that they cannot see progress. No this is not a Championship team yet. After 3 years, frankly that would be a miracle. However, some of the pieces are here now. Curry, Lee, Frye, Craw, Q, Marbury, balkman....now the tough part starts!!! IT must make that deal to get them over the hump of low mediocrity to contender. Will it be a deal or draft pick or signing? I for one, see this roster as 1000 times better than the one he inherited. The money is alot but starting next year that goes down too and Cablevision has enough of it, so it really does not matter.

Half full or half empty. Take your choice. I know what the haters choose.

Dude, I'm with you but why give some of the guys here, more of a reason to start a flame war? We have positives and we have negatives. We will make some trades to solidify our strengths and address our weaknesses. We can work on this draft too.

Ditto.

So I was feeling like crap, but Holfresh, you really made me laugh so I have to thank you for that.

Can't we just be objective fans? Who here, maybe besides Islesfan, actually hates Curry? I think we all root for the guy. I've even said a million times, when he becomes a respectable defender, he'll be untradeable, but since I can only speak for myself, since he doesn't play defense and hasn't improved much at all, over his career, he's just as much a trading chip as everyone on this team. Great potential. If you trade him, you're gonna have to get something well worth it in return. But still very tradeable.

shouldn't this read knicks 22, haters 28?

you hit the nail on the head...in year 1 after larry it's going to come down to the wire...fortunately for isiah, he only needs 15 more wins to get extended.

while the fans here are a bit boisterous (sp?) it appears the fans and national media are beginning to come around.

can dolan be far behind?

What if he gets say, 35? Is he gone?

My view is right now, 24 wins and he gets extended. I think Dolan never intended on firing Isiah and all he needed was some excuse to extend him.

me too, while I feel it is a forgone conclusion that he will be extended, if they play less than .500 ball from here on out, than we have to hire the uk mafia to take dolan out personally.

I like the knicks far more than I like isiah.

edit: and I don't even really like isiah. him lambier and rodman can go jump off a cliff.

a 10 game improvement from last year will probably save his job in Dolan's eyes... so 33 wins is probably the magic # imo.

as it should! Didnt Layden's last team win 37 games? We should at least reward Isiah for achieving those standards

i want playoffs or a really exciting playoff run.

Each game is a microcosm of the season. How many slow starts have we had? How slow did the season start?

After the all star break, we will stumble a bit (3rd quarter anyone) but this undefeated stat when entering the 4th quarter with a lead to me is the true mark of our turn around as a team.

when 75% of the season is through, that's when the war of words will officially start. (there may be a record number of man up threads) lol

But he got fired for that partway into the following season... and so did Chaney, with a passable W-L record (on par with Isiah's current record). Isiah's situation with Dolan kind of reminds me of friends I had in HS. They were A students, so parents always expected A's and anything less than an A or A- was unacceptable. But then they'd have this little brother who was a C- student. So the kid would get a C+ on a test and was mightily rewarded. The first kid would've gotten his ass beaten if he ever got a C+. Funny, kind of sounds like the Isiah situation.
