Either that or the coach needs to be more diligent finding ways to use him...No one can be comfortable having just one big man who can score...

I like Frye a great deal, but I don't think he fits here. Curry and Lee compliment each other. Frye either has to be the guy off the bench or be shipped.

Thats where I disagree...Its difficult for me to go with Lee as my PF against the other high scoring PF in this league...True, its a team game but I won't be confident going into battle against the likes of Dirk, Bosh,Duncan,etc...I can't be happy saying well at least I will get my share of rebounds...Come playoff time, when every possession is important and big shots rule the day, I want a guy who can shoot and play some D...Rebounds are very important in a possession game but in the playoffs, you're going to need stops, to hit big shots, and rebounds...Lee only gives you rebounds..

Why can we just keep Frye, Lee and Curry again? These are 3 very good players that are young. We should view them as our building blocks. I would not trade anything this year unless it is a no brainer. We are not winning anything this year. Build for the future. Take away Zeke's line of credit and just let him build through the draft.

dude, he scores more than Frye on fewer shots than Frye and has one of the best FG% in the league. with all the shots Curry takes and all the shots our guards miss, doesn't it make sense to have a guy on the floor who creates his offense from others' misses? Lee is the best per minute offensive rebounder in the NBA. he's a perfect fit for this team.

Frye stands around and picks his nose if he isn't shooting most nights. I still like him, but he is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR more one dimensional than Lee. get over it.

This is a discussion no, I'm not trying to knocks Lee but just looking at the things I would want on my ball club if I had my choice..Most of Lee's shots are created by guards penetrating and dishing thus the high percentage..Good defensive teams playing in the half court during the playoff will make it difficult to penetrate...The better PF in this league can play under the basket and from the outside...Why am I resigning my future to a guy who mostly rebounds only?..The leagues other PF's are doing everything..

But hey it's just my preference...

I don't know what Holfresh doesn't see. When are in tight games why is Lee in the game guarding super star power forwards and small forwards if he gives zero stops????

David is the real deal, I would not stun his growth any longer. He needs to start!

ooookaaaay, but I just said that Lee is shooting better than Frye and scoring more than him on less shots. and, yes, many of his buckets come off passes, which leads to another point - Lee can actually pass. Frye can't. so Lee can rebound with the best players in the league, shoots 60% from the floor, can run the floor, can defend as well as Frye, gets more steals, outscores Frye, passes, etc. Frye has a better jump shot - yet somehow only shoots 40%, which is pathetic for a spot up shooter who also supposedly can take it inside.

now, which one of those players sounds more complete?

I think Frye could be more versatile if he played his natural position. Thats not happening w/ Curry here so I would have no problem moving him

Not a pissing contest bro..Frye is far from the complete player that I would want playing the position the next 10 years...But If you ask me and I'm thinking the rest of the league I have to go up against...We don't have guy who is ready to assume that position yet...But thats just me...

I think it is too soon to talk about trading any of these guys unless it is for O'Neal or maybe K.G. (i have doubts about KG only because of his age). I think Frye will surprise with another offseason of work on his game and Lee is going to be a solid PF once he gains some strength and improves his jumpshot. I would let these guys continue to develop, sit Frye and let him backup Curry and let Lee grab 12-13 rebounds a game. I would also work hard to turn Curry into a decent defender. I think these guys trade value will be alot more this time next year. The Celtics won with three solid forntcourt players. I don't think it is a necessity that 1 has to go, they just have to learn how to compliment each other's game better.

KG may be on the downside but this franchise desperatly needs a leader on the court and someone who only cares about winning. We have to find some way to break this culture of losing. KG would do that IMO

the team is doing fine with breaking the culture of losing on it's own. they had a tough november with the home crowd seemingly out for blood, Francis screwing everything up, Marbury not knowing what to do, etc. they're 15-14 since Francis sat down, if they'd won those heartbreakers against NJ and WAS they'd be 17-12 since then. they're playing pretty well since Francis left.

and could just as easily have lost 8-10 games be the same token. They have had two sub .500 months, and still have these total lemon games where it looks like they dont even care or try. Thats what prompted Malik to call them out the way he did. Maybe it sticks. The career pattern of these guys isnt a positive one.

When Larry was the coach and we won 6 straight I honestly thought we had arrived and were on our way to totally turning things around. Marbury got hurt, Larry got retarded and the whole thing went up in smoke. I'm just taking a more wait and see approach.

holfresh Lee scores more, shoots a better percentage, has more steals, more rebounds, and Isiah had him guarding 4 different men the other night. Your man Isiah trusts lee and doesnt Frye but in your mind Frye is a more complete player. Lee can handle the ball much better passer also. So in your mind Isiah has no idea what he is doing playing Lee in front of Curry.

After Curry is traded, they are our new starting front court.

in one summer they have already improved their games.

this year offense and free throw shooting.

next year defense. (though, maybe this year post all star break zeke changes his mantra e.g. jj1 starting)

I agree with this, but I don't think Frye has improved his game since last year. I am trying to come up with anything... maybe he seems a little LESS confused than last year?

Holfresh you say all that Lee does is rebound. All that Curry does is score, and turn the ball over. What else does Curry do to help the team?

It's hard to judge because Frye's role has been narrowed so much this season. I certainly can't say he has gotten better. But if you look at how he has played since his 8 game slump to start the season, I don't think he has been worse, actually his numbers are so close we might even say he is exactly the same.

And I think that is alright. He is a good player. I'd really like to see what he can do if turned loose on offense, but it's Curry's world in the front court, and with his shots up as well as other players on the squad, I think Frye has done well in his role.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
