Year 7 is when he will start to buy into defense. Year 7.5 is when he will learn how to play it well. If not, year 8 will be when him and his coach are doing stuff elsewhere.

What are the chances that Curry tattoos the word "UP" on the back of both of his hands.
I think he & the coaching staff will make defense the first priority this summer. Eddy will never get his props unless he can prove to be a legit defensive player.
Year 7 in the league. That's usually when players start to think about playing defense and learn how to play it.

Are you serious or are you still drinking heavily on Sunday's even though football is over?

You give him until the beginning of his 7th year to BUY INTO playing defense and then you think it'll only take him half a year to start playing it well?!?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

^That is what he said or thats what he wanted to say but he is not great speaking to the media. You are looking at the negative side and I'm looking at the positive. You see him blaming others, I see him using it as motivation and thats what I expected.

Don't you think it's highly presumptious to say that that's what he wanted to say? I understand not being great speaking to the media, but to repeatedly say the wrong thing, well... it's very Marbury-like. The positive is that he might still work on his game despite that he hasn't given any indication of such to the media. The negative is that so far, he's said the wrong thing a few times in a row now, and it's scary for a young player to already be in the habit of thinking he's great and not mention anything about improving his flaws. The influence of guys like Marbury, Isiah, Francis, etc... who have never once in the NBA learned humility, and that discretion is the better part of valor is showing heavily. When Curry says the right thing, for a change, I'll start to change my view about this kid. Right now he's spoiled, just like his mentors.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I am kinda with Silver and here is why:

Name 1 big man out of CHI that has had good success in their system. Who developed? Skiles and company has had good success with guards and small forwards but have not had good success with big men. Even Big Ben this year has fallen off dramatically (I haven't watch many of their games and it could just be a respite after big contract).

Dealing with high school kids coming into the NBA is a hard thing to do and takes special care and nurturing. Did Curry get it? Is he getting now? Last year he couldn't do a thing on the offensive side of the ball, committing TOs and fouls left and right. He was barely able to get up and down the court after 5 minutes of play. 90% of those problems have been addressed or are being address - passing out of the double team is next.

Can he change as dramatically on the D side of thing? I think yes. (I REALLY HOPE yes.) Is it an excuse for this year? No. Could it be that he and Isiah have decided to only concentrate on offense this year? Not out of the realm. Has Eddy been rebounding better as of late? Yes. FT shooting? Yes.

Glass half full over here. With a lot of praying.

another thing about chicago's big men - the bulls have not really missed a beat with both of them gone. they may not be "better" but they are still on pace to at least get in to the 45 win club. (i predicted 47-50 for them this year).

and the hornets nor us have really succeeded yet b/c of them.

CHI has good talent, no denying that. Have Tyson/Curry gotten better or dramatically better since leaving? Debatable. Part of getting better up to the player too.

The Hornet and Knicks not getting better could be a function of other reasons, not just the big men. How about this: Without the 2 big men, would those teams be better, worse or the same? And will those big men make the teams better over the next few years?

i dont think chicago would have ever have become the team it is now if they kept curry and chandler. also, eddy and chandler needed to go their separate ways in order fro either of them to get better. chandler is doing some work now, and so is eddy....unfortunately for us, all of eddy's work is at the buffet line. there, and only there, will eddy make his teammates better (sandwiches).

I think Curry's doing a fantastic job . . . of decorating his body with tatoos.
