Tyronn Lue,John Lucas, and Travis Diener?
He combed the league and found these "pass first point guards"?

I like the fact he says the knicks need a shooter and says they could get that from their point guard, you know, the pass first point guard with the shoot first mentality. What a idiot.

going for all-star caliber players at every position got us francis and jalen instead of guys like qyntel. any team can get good contributions from lunch pail type players, especially one that wants to build around a big man in the post. and there's a difference between being "shoot first" and shooting a good %. he means guys who feed the ball to curry, and if their guy doubles, can get it back and drain the long ball.

i was also disappointed in his suggestions, but our problem under IT has always been that we have too many players who think they should be starting and not enough low level guys hungry to get any PT at all who will simply do their job. but i think i'd rather get those guys from the D league or CBA than trade for his ideas.
The he gives no option for defensive minded power forward. Thanks.

Knicks need to holla at Seattle and get Jesus and Watson. The knicks could try to get Collison too if they can. Jesus, Collison, and watson would fill some holes nicely. Frye, Nate, Craw, Rose? I didn't look it up but something like that should work.

I'm a genius and I'm better than hollinger.

Jesus?

Frankly people on this board can label people haters all they want, but it was very clear we didn't have a pg during the draft and should have taken marcus williams or lowry.

Anyone that looks at crawford and is excited, really needs to evaluate if they enjoy a losing season every year. We have two players in the starting lineup that give up more or the same than they produce and they are both from chicago and both deals were awful....

I love how washington can get a player like stevenson for 1 million by offering him a starting spot and we have to over pay and include a trade kicker from someone that never played well in his career and is already useless in jefferies......

Isiah put together a terribly constructed team. If he was so concerned with defense instead of smoke and mirrors he would have drafted Granger or Bynum and then grabbed Luther Head instead of little Nate.....

Last year he had a great chance to add what we needed, a defensive minded rebounder for cheap in Reggie Evans or make a move to get Ruben Patterson but he pulled up another slew of horrible moves....

Call me a hater all you want, but right now we have what to be happy about, Curry's offense, Lees Rebounding and perhaps Balkmans rebounding potential. Other than that where are we? The middle of no where in salary cap hell and needing to surrounder assets in order to get rid of panic deals this ******* has made

This is a great post. I agree, we could have taken marcus and Balkman in that draft, we could have taken luther head, who is a shooter that we desperately needed, and stevenson turned down a long term guaranteed contract from Orlando to get playing time in washington, we could of had him also, that would of given us some nice pieces, guys who can play, they are not sexy names, but they can play basketball the right way. Then getting curry in the mix with these guys would have made all the sense in the world.

Its just a shame we put so much emphasis on the supposed great drafting of Isiah when he has to kill the cap to get late picks, fact remains if you want something in round 2 there are many guys out there that can help and at most it cost you 3 million to get a pick without hurting the cap.

2004
Varejo, Duhon, Ariza (nice job)

2005
Turiaf, Ellis, Gomes, Blacthe (who we should have found a way to got and try to develop for nothing)

2006
Craig Smith, Daniel Gibson, Alexander Johnson, Millsap, Hassan Adams

If you’re the GM you need a concrete plan I love watching a guy fight for his life and a guaranteed deal, someone with something to prove that wasn’t handed his position in the NBA and got his money without really deserving it, which is what the Knicks are largely made up of.

Ernie Grunfeld is very good at his job. When JVG was chosed over Ernie I thought it was the right move. I am not sure anymore.

we are doing it differently.

we have pass first small forwards, a rebounding Team and our outside shooting is coming from qrich, frye and nate/marbs.

isiah is playing the full game. he's sizing teams up with our starters, working the body with our high energy bench , taking out their strengths with our versatile "stoppers" and taking them out with the knock out punch.

there is a reason we are undefeated when ahead after 3 quarters...

in game coaching.

until our youthful core turns into stars, we will maximize the Team game.

Can we see how much Curry, Balkman, Lee and Frye develop next year and then make a decision? Curry is just coming into his own on offense and could become a decent defensive player. Balkman is a rookie and looks good on defense and ok on offense. He could develop a nice jumpshot. Frye and Lee are in just their 2nd year! Give them a chance until mid way next year!

I think the worry with Curry/Frye is that fundamentally its hard to get them to fit together and if we stretch out the experiment too long it will hinder at least one of their developments (specifically Frye this year). I agree with Hollinger that Frye is a good player, but if we're going to build with Curry, we might need to get a player with a different skill set.
