Put Nate on the Mavericks or Phoenix, and no one would be complaining about a 5'7" SG

I don't think there is anything wrong with Nate, beyond ADD, stupidity and low BB IQ.

Just on our mediocre team, its tough to make the max out of his skills and have to cover for his inadequacy.

Our offense is based on dumping the ball into Curry in the half court. The Suns and Mavs (to a lesser extent) push the ball up the court and play a fast paced game.

I think Nate can co-exist in the offense- getting into the lane and either hitting a lay up or dumping off to Curry- or hitting an open 3- those are all things that Nate as a 2g can do (potentially).

Wait, wait, wait, so Isiah is saying to us that Nate is better off as a PG then shooting guard?? What what whaaaaaat?????

How long did it take Isiah to figure this out. Larry Brown had it figured out by the end of his training camp. We had it figured out by the end of his first Summer league. I don't think it's exactly been rocket science.

Apparently it took Isiah until this season to figure out the obvious. Because just after the draft, all we heard was how stocked we were at PG which was why he just couldn't draft a PG, like Marcus, until 9 picks later apparently when he took Collins.

That "reasoning" never made sense since Marbury and Francis (veterans with tons of miles on them) weren't going to be a part of any rebuilding and building for the future and Nate and Crawford weren't really PG's. We all knew it during the draft. Isiah is figuring it out now.

What's more important now, a capable young backup PG to groom for when Marbury is completely shot or a role playing energy guy like Balkman who gets DNP-ID's all the time? And please don't say that Mardy is going to be a full time starting PG in this league.

What he can't see if Nate can be a back up Point for half the season, but Larry can tell us Lee is Starting small forward???? You are too much.

We didn't take Marcus because of Marbury and Francis. Is that what we should have done, probably not. But we are hitched to alteast Marbury for two more season as one of our Franchise players. We had Nate and Franchise, we took a Small Forward who can play defense and dribble basically in Mardy Collins pick because they are all 6'2 and under sized scorers. What's the problem, is that not clear enough??? Do we really need Marcus scoring off the bench which is all he is doing in Jersey???? NO. Will anybody care about marcus if we pick or trade for one of the 50 point guards in the NBA???? No.

We passed on a point guard, finding a point guard is not hard(unless you are the Hawks), Get over it!!!!!!

N8 is a change of pace, third-down back. Ideally. Thing is, we already have guys who play that way (Marbury) so its not much of a change of pace. Both guys do damage penetrating although Marbury is superior. N8 can hit the three at a much higher percentage. But neither is what you'd call pass-first or a better than average defender at the position.

I think N8 is fine as a scoring guard. A good backup. If he gets serious about defense, he could be one of the best defenders, getting steals, being a pest etc. He is never goping to rack up the assists though and his style of play means turnovers until he matures.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

nate is redundant on this team. We need a change of pace. 6 months from now Isiah will figure this out, the "lovers" will call him a genius for making moves the "haters" have been asking for, for months.

Nate is a bit like Frye, a guy who's better suited at one position on offense (SG for Nate, PF for Frye) than he is on defense (PG for Nate, C for Frye.)

It's always a shuffle for incomplete player types and tweeners. Do you want to accentuate their positives, or mitigate their flaws? Both are noble aims, but they are often in contrast with one another.

Nates a good player to have if you have a good post game with a good passing big man. If we had a big man cappable of running an offense through the post. He would probably play great next to Duncan or Shaq or Webber & Divac back in the day. If Curry stepped up his passing and was actually able to run the offense through the post then Nate would excell since he can shoot spot up, and he is so fast.

I don't think Isiah draft Nate to run the show. But to provide energy and athletism at the guard spot, and be a pest on defense. A lot of you guys are spinning it like Isiah just figured it out. Why? because he just decided to speak on it now? It was Nates scouting report comming out of college. All you had to do was watch some Washington clips. Thats why he probably took Mardy Collins as well this last draft. An oversided defensive PG to compliment his undersized offensive combo guards. To bad Collins has barley shown anything.

If Nate is no point then there is no need for him to be on the team. Who wants a 5'7 shooting guard? Because Nate is definately not 5'9 like they say he is.

He would still play the PG position he would just be teammed up with Crawford or Marbury and play more off the ball. Like he has been doing since he has played with the team. And of course he is going to play Nate at PG at times and have him run the offense for a little while. He is not going to completly abandon Nate at PG. But Nate is not the future of the Knicks at PG.

Said Thomas, "He's becoming a little pest again."

[/quote]

So true, so true. Halarious to hear Zeke say something like that. He drafted the side show! I questioned the height of him, not knowing his 'little punk attitude' came with the package, at the time of the draft. He says Nate is better at both ends, but the real problem is, is his hieght! The swagger doesn't help him at all either. Glad to see Zeke making some noise though. He's given these guys a chance to do something, with some freedom, but I can see why Zeke is starting to question players and why he is starting to make some moves. Especially with JJ moving into Frye's spot. Let's hope it works.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I know one thing about Knicks basketball. When you get a chance to play for the 'New York Knicks', it's a chance in a lifetime. And when you blow it, you blow a lot more than just playing professional basketball. Lee, Balkman and Crawford are the only players who understand the importance, the one chance you have to make a real statement in your career as a basketball player. On one of the biggest stages in all of sports. Curry's is finally getting it. Frye, Collins, JJ, JJ2 don't seem to get it. Q seems at time to be a head case, because of personal problems. Nate acts like a little, immature punk and does no one any good 'team player wise'. He deserved that suspension and is probably looking for another one. Marbury's settling down not only has brought him back to a certain point, but more importantly as a team player and seems to finally be getting it. The point is, when players come here and just take the money and don't work hard to keep the biggest thing they are going to have, by being in New York, then they lose out on a lot of credibility and more importantly, the opportunity to try to take advantage of the market that the City has to offer. That in my opinoin is what you would call being a dummy. too dumb to realize that this town is not going to wait for you. I made the point that we need to find people who want' to play for the Knicks, to play in New York City. Just recently, Kobe Bryant admitted that he would have loved to play here and he would've, could've been the biggest thing to hit this town in a long time.
I'll never trust this' team again.

With Nates skill set, toughness and athleticism, if he were 6'5" with Dwayne Wade, Nate would be a superstar in the league. A dumb superstar, but a superstar, regardless. It's really not that far off a comparision.
