Watching him try to dribble the ball is painful; he has NO 1-on-1 moves whatsoever.

If you are talking about juking or spinning, that's true. But we have seen him fake his man, take a dribble and nail pretty nice J's, and I would call that a 1-on-1 move. We've also seen him fake and go in for that floater quite a bit, and I think the hook going across the lane is a 1-on-1 move isn't it?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Yes, he has been trying some new "moves" ( I quote this because they aren't what bob is looking for, but it is something ). He also made a couple of power moves to the hoop, that brought him to the line (He missed the dunk and the lay-up, but it was good to see him try).

He's young and he's got some tools. It's going to take a little emperical discovery for him to develope an offensive game to augment his jumper. Defense is another story, it's doesn't take a lot of maturity to bend your knees and move your feet. He looks like a plank of wood out there.

Frye is a kinda unique mediocre player. Most mediocre players are consistently mediocre all the time. Frye looks incredible one moment, then spastic the next and it averages out to a mediocre player. He was that way in college. And for some reason, his rookie year, his shot was so good it took people by surprise, and his spastic inner self didn't have that much time to shine, but it's back out now. His footwork might improve so he could have a nice, by the numbers, post-up game, but I agree with 12step, how much maturity does it take to bend your knees and move your feet?

That said, why not start Lee at the 4 and play Frye off the bench. Sadly, I think Cato and James could help us if they got minutes, but they are getting older and I think youth has to be given the priority.

IT wont start David and I have no idea why he wont. I think my mind is as great as IT and I would start Craw, Steph, Quentin, Curry and Big Snacks. This team will be such a defensive juggernaut we may beat Orlando 54-52. Or one of the big men will get in foul trouble in about 5 minutes and then Frye comes in and Lee minutes get cut.

I suspect that's the point king1 has been delivering (indirectly this time) all the while.

And few disagree, short of Isiah.

And if he refuses to sit Frye, then put him (Lee) at the 3. Or 5, or 2, or wherever.

It's just silly to have your most consistent contributor, and probably headiest player, taking a backseat to guys who seem confused and out of place at best.

Thank you for clearing this thread up for me. I just didn't get it, but now it makes sense. And thank you as well, king1. Now I know why Orr was King's back up.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

King's had a few different "suggestions" that are seen on the court, hasn't he? After like two of them, I started listening to these little tidbits more intensely.

Heh. It's kind of interesting watching Jerome James on the floor. He's a true lumbering big man - he's got slow feet... either that, or he's not accustomed to going after rebounds. It's like he stands there and just reaches for them w/ his arms. He could become a better intimidator if he moved his feet and got better positioning.

In any event, he contributed against Orlando. We got good value out of him tonight. Playing him makes David Lee and Channing look that much quicker.

irregardless of that. It's ironic that this thread would be here, and then IT goes and starts JJ. After the brawl the Knicks were forced to go big and they won some games, but then they got their players back and IT went away from size again (He would argue that Curry, Frye and JJ2 are all 6' 11', but Frye and JJ2 are "small" tall people.) Now big snacks starts, we win a game, and if this bigger line-up continues from game to game and we start to win some more, it makes king1's motives irrelevant. king1 has stumbled upon something much bigger than himself or David Lee's need for a life-sustaining beverage after another all-out effort. He has stumbled upon: Big Snacks.

Jerome's a great guy. Everyone whos ever crossed his path likes the guy. He's also a fundamentally skilled player. He knows how to play. He also cares very little about actually winning or being a great player. He gets paid millions because he's 7'1 and has some skills, but he doesnt work out or take his career seriously at all. Never really has

The thing Isaiah's trying to deal with is that teams have very good first quarters against us. Then we have to play catch up. He tried to deal with this by starting Jeffries. That didn't work. Jerome James is probably the next experiment. We won the first quarter against Orlando and went on to win a badly played game. So maybe it's a good idea.
