I would also say that Isiah making Marbury & Francis allstars & the motion offense was scrapped when Eddie Curry showed that he could be a beast down low on offense. Last season a ton of people(especially the ones who diss like Marbury) begged for Marbury & Francis & everyone to take a secondary role to Eddie Curry. So it has now happend and its not working the way that everyone who blamed Marbury for last season thought it would. So now the heat is on Curry.
Amazing... you're still feeling sorry for Marbury...
People were down on him last year because he had sooo much trouble to buy into his role as a PG. It was all about "freedom" for him. He'd have rather played SG than play as he's doing now. Ironically though, sometime in January '06 he started to "get it" and we went on a 6 game win streak. All this proved was that we could have won a lot more if he'd gotten with the program sooner, but alas...
Few people criticized his floor play then, though we did express a lack of faith in him on many levels over the long haul.
In stereotypical fashion, to prove his haters once again right, when he got injured he chose to express his "leadership" by challenging Brown through the media. I'm sure you remember comments like "he seems insecure" and "I think we should run NO set plays." On top of that he never regained his strength.
Of course few could have faith in him as a leader.
Additionally, last season saw Crawford as a less confident but more controlled PG. Some got the sense that if Isiah were bedding down with him in any capacity close to what he's done with Marbury he could reap a better return. Why? Better health, more coachable, more clutch, AND better chemistry with our new franchise player (as defined not by us but by Isiah): Eddy Curry.
Now things have changed for Crawford. Isiah rarely plays him at PG, and he's letting him get drunk on "freedom", and I no longer trust that Crawford is capable of what I thought he might be last year. There's such a lack of consistency around here.
Sure, some like yourself wish it were so simple as to believe that Isiah is always scapegoated first, followed by Marbury and then whoever else is in the eye of the storm, but I contend that when you have a perennially flawed roster and fans are in the same position as coaches in trying to figure out how to draw blood from a stone (otherwise known as trying to eek wins from a dysfunctional roster) one needs to get down to the nitty gritty of mental toughness, reliability, character, potential, leadership, likeability, chemstry, durability, etc.
Unfortunately, Marbury often comes up short on close inspection, as do far too many on this team.
But go ahead, weep another tear for Marbury and blame the fans.

There is nothing in the paragraph I stated that wasn't true. I don't feel sorry for anyone on the Knicks or blame fans. What can I blame fans for? Whenever someone puts sole blame on one person I will allways dissagree.
And in the 6 game win streak it was more than just Marbury "getting it". Its a mixture of Marbury, Nate, Crawford all playing well at the same time. A mixture of Brown allowing them to do what they do and score and create for others, creating easy buckets for Curry, Lee, Frye. A mixture of David Lee getting to start and doing the little things.
I didn't even read your whole post. You made what I said a bigger deal then what it was intended to be. Maybe because I posted after you you thought I was targeting your post or something?
