I'm just less enthralled with giving up more youth (ala reezy) for a quick fix.

There is nobody out there putting us over the top but cohesion and practice and battling together.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

i'm not sure.

dolan let's isiah sign a guy for 5 years $30 mil but then buys out jalen and mo so isiah can't use them in a trade.

so will even allow a trade? considering how isiah keeps talking about not making a deal, is that coming from him or from higher up?

it's tough to say...but chances are...we don't make a move unless it's one to dump salary.

Can we trade Isiah for a young coach/GM package?

Isiah needs to trade for Hilton Armstrong and Mickael Pietrus. Go get both of these guys. Right now! Armstrong deal built around Frye or a Frye/Robinson package. Then get Pietrus in a deal built around Lee. I know, I know..... Nobody loves Lee more than me, trust me.

After that, I immediately sign Louis Amundson (from UNLV) and Chris Rodgers (from Arizona) out of the D-league. Amundson will supply a lot of what Lee gave us. They have very, very similiar games. And Rodgers would be the best defensive guard we've had in NY since Derek Harper. On defense, very similiar to Harper or, say, Chris Childs. Plus, he can run an offense, can score a little and he make his FTs. He'd be a nice upgrade at the backup 1 spot over Nate.

Ask yourself then:
Who would you rather move forward with right now?

*Frye (Not a power player/defender. Never will be. Finesse offensive player/jumpshooter and that's it).
*Lee (Awesome, everyone's favorite Knick but you gotta give to get).
*Robinson (Athletic and talented but may never really learn how to be a point guard. The lack of maturity is really suprising, especially playing under Isiah and assistant coach Phil Ford. Terrible perimeter defender. The comment really pissed me off at the time, but Larry may have been right - maybe he's just a highlight reel).

or

*Hilton Armstrong (The young shotblocking/rebounding big we need. Will be a better all-around, truer bigman then Frye will be. All he needs is playing time to develop. We all know he's a defensive oriented big, first and formost, but he can score inside and out. Seen it with my own eyes on many ocassions in flashes. Has never been asked to score the ball before but has nice touch and range for a bigman).
*Pietrus (Young athletic 2/3 that no longer has a place in GS after the big trade and with J-Rich coming back eventually. Runs the court like a deer, takes it to the tin hard and shoots it well from deep. High % shooter, at least this season. Plus he plays strong D. I've said it before, if Detroit thinks they can get him bu dangling Nazr Mohommed out there then we can absolutely get him for a package built around Frye or Lee - esp. when you take into account they traded away Troy Murphy).
*Louis Amundson (Young 3/4 that will supply almost everything Lee does. Very similiar games. Hustles, plays decent defense - he might even be a slightly better shotblocker than Lee - and can score around the rim well. Very aggressive. Really effective rebounder).
*Chris Rodgers (Young 1/2 combo. guard. Those that don't know his game, simply have to see the kind of D he plays to believe it. Would be an awesome backup. Would bring a ton of intangibles).

Well, there you go. You all know my answer. If we're gonna abandon the idea of ever getting under the cap and continue to rebuild on the fly this is how you do it. We make sensible trades for young impact players, not big splashes for players past their prime. This would have the chance to mold into a nice, balanced team if Zeke could pull of these moves. GET IT DONE!!!!
