One of the reasons Thomas gives for not starting Lee is that the team needs his energy off the bench. They wouldn't need it as much if Lee was starting instead of Frye or Jefferies and they weren't always down in the first quarter. Teams make a lot of runs on us to start the first and third quarters. I don't have anyway of checking the numbers, but I'd love to see the point differentials for the first 6 minutes of the first and third quarters, which is one of the only times Lee isn't on the court. Then we need his "energy off the bench" to bring us back in the game...

One of those articles says Lee should be given all star consideration.

He should just go straight to the Hall of Fame.

do we really know for sure what Paxon was asking? Stuff like that gets regurgitated so many times we start to assume that was trade deal.

I thought it MIGHT have been dlee for the right to swap this years choice.

Why would Isiah hold back a number 30 pick for a potential Lotto pick? Not that anyone knew it would be a 2 pick.

as Knicks fan we should talk about players positives and not the negatives. As long as a player competes and plays hard every night I am fine withe these guys. The bottom line Lee plays harder than anyone else on the team so people like him more. Probably helps that he is the only white guy on the team. If Frye played as hard as Lee he would average 18 points and about 8 rebounds a game. I know people get carried away with Lee on this team but how good would the Knicks be if they played as hard as he did each night?

What is all of this getting rid of Lee stuff. Not bad for a 30th pick, huh?!
I'll never trust this' team again.

^ You'll take David Lee's offensive rebounds over Thomas's shotblocking?

Why?

We're the best rebounding team in the league and that's not just because of Lee...

Plus, TT is gonna be a 8-10 REB/game player himself.

He's right! We are the best and think about this. This is a young team. We are going to be monsters in the rebounding department and going to bring game sooner or later. Every great team has a strength to grow on. Take the Suns for instance. They don't have a franchise scorer, or dominate rebounder or shot blocker or any of that good stuff. What they have is a great ball handling team that shares and so far, it's got them 16 wins in a row, anchored of course by Nash. They became a great team on that one aspect alone and that's what the Knicks can be in a few years from now, built on a strength, provided we don't start giving certain pieces away.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Don't get me wrong, I Love DaWhite Howard, but he doesn't play any defense, just like Curry.

I recall Paxson asking for David Lee OR an unconditional 1st.

Had we given up Lee instead, we could've kept our pick and drafted Tyrus ourself, who would've given us that dynamic shotblocker in the paint that we sorely need.

Curry
T. Thomas
Jefferies
Q. Richardson
Marbury

Thomas will be a future 2 Block/Game forward.

I know at the time we couldn't have foreseen us sucking so bad, but honestly, would it have mattered?

Lee was a 30th Pick, our pick swap would've given Chicago ATLEAST a pick somewhere around 15-20, which is a good 10+ spots better.

I just can't understand it. He must really be that ****y, thinking shotblockers come along everyday like that.

I would have preferred Roy to Ty Thomas if we were going to get Curry and trade Lee. Would have been ok to not draft one of the many skilled guards available at 20 and gamble on Balkman, and taken a guy like Alex Johnson or whoever.

1) I love Lee, but why should fans only discuss players' positives?

2) How does being white "probably" help Lee? I'm not following you at all here.

What does Dwight Howard have to do with the Curry trade?

Ty Thomas is quite unproven thus far and I don't see any significant reason to suggest that he is going to be better than Lee right now. None of us know what he is going to be like at this point. Not only that, but Lee is probably better and more valuable to the Knicks and around the the NBA than Ty Thomas.

I'm also not quite sure that everyone anticipated the Knicks being that good. Some thought the team would be really good under Brown, but most experts didn't have the Knicks doing that well last year. Then this year I don't see how the expectations could be THAT high. Maybe you just held expectations too high in the first place. This is not to say that the team should have NO or low expectations, but maybe being a bit more realistic about potential progress.

Lastly, I don't understand what you mean with regards to the pick swap, Lee being a 30th pick.
