It don't look to bad. But we would have A LOT of long contracts.

Jaric 10/11
Crawford 10/11
Richardson 09/10
Hassell 09/10
James 09/10

If we could move Crawford for an upgrade up front and to balance the backcourt or a lesse talent with a shorter contract. Either let Davis walk or move him for a lesser talent with a short contract and a draft pick. It wouldn't be to bad.

unloading Jefferies cancels out taking on Jaric's deal, since they both run the same length... i just think Jaric could help this team more than Jefferies can, & Hassell can provide the defense we thought we were getting in Jefferies.

James & Hassell's deals go 1 year longer than Steph's though... i think Ricky D is a tradeable commodity tho cuz his contract only goes for 1 more season... maybe you can package him w/Malik & get yourself a sharpshooter in a sign & trade?

Successful Scenario
Due to New York and Minnesota being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Minnesota had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 3629970.

NY trades Curry, Crawford, Richardson, Francis, & the rights to Bulls pick
Minny trades Garnett, Hudson, Jaric & there draft pick top 3 protected.

NY
Frye/James/Cato
Lee/Jefferies
Garnett/Balkman
Jaric/Marbury/Nate
Marbury/Hudson/Collins

Minny
Curry/Blount
Griffin/Madison
Davis/Hassell
Richardson/Crawford
James/Foyle(Francis)

New York gets Garnett(31yrs old), and by taking Minny's pick which would turn into a lottery pick since that team would probably miss the playoffs. The lottery pick would absorb some of the blow to losing Curry at 23-24yrs old. But with Garnett we take over our division this season.

Minny gets 23-24yr old Curry who could be a top 3 center in 2yrs at the age to 26. Face it they aren't going anywhere in the next 5yrs of Garnetts career. Nobody else is going to give them a young player like Curry. And they have to many long contracts to completely rebuild the whole roster. They upgrade over Hudson & Jaric with Q & Crawford who all have basically the same length of contracts. Garnetts contract is so big I had to include Francis in the deal. Francis can shut it down this season. Then they could move James & Davis in the offeseason to upgrade there frontcourt along side of Curry. Them add Francis in the rotation the following yr.

Why not attempt to do a 3 way trade... Indiana, Minnesota and NY

Indiana gets Kevin Garnett and cash plus a 2nd rd pick from NYK

Minnesota gets Channing Frye, Shawne Williams, Steve Francis, and Jeff Foster

NYK gets Jermaine O'neal and Eddie Griffin

Curry/Griffin/Cato/James
O'neal/Jeffries/Rose
Lee/Balkman
Q-Rich/Collins/Nate Robinson
Marbury/Crawford

yea over the hill kg in all honesty i love dlee but that kg deal isn't half bad if we are giving up contracts like q, malik, and jefferies. if you think about it logically which isiah won't you can then look to move and start over which really needs to happen. Why not move KG for Thomas/Deng and PJ Brown, which would we an awesome deal in the long run, so the bulls win a championship so what. Although i don't think the wolves do that even though it probably makes them a better more well balanced team with: Foye, McCants, Richardson, Lee, Frye

If I was the GM I think that is a great long term deal, because Frye isn't going to make the impact we think he is and it kills to lose DLee, but I think Ty Thomas will have a similiar impact given the minutes a year down the road and deng has serious all-star potential down the road....

You can then let Marbury/Francis expire and stay put with the youth movement.....

Front Court of the Future Deng/Thomas/Curry which allows you to live with curry since thomas can blk a ton of shots......if ******* put a top three protection we would have him anyone, i still think paxson would accept that deal because frankly no one thought we would be that bad last year

You don't rebuild by having picks in the mid to late lottery you rebuild by having a top3 pick. Theres no way Isiah will ever allow that happen so you have to go another route.

I didn't really think this thread was going to be this popular. It must be another slow day on UK.

#1 I barley complain. #2 I didn't give up all our young players. I gave up 1 young player, and in my proposed deal I got a lottery pick back to try and absorb the loss of Curry. So you must be talking about DJ. DJ has allways stressed the point of wanting a championship calibre team. He feels that Marbury-KG-Curry could possibly a championship calibre 3some. So Im guessing thats why he would be willing to give away the young guys he did in his deal.
"Just trade for Garnett."
Yep, let's just do it. This guy is so easy to get. He can be had for free but because of the salary cap something must be given up. I'd say Malik, Francis, and Jerome. That would work.

Your post would make sense if had Just trade for Garnett as the title but left my post empty. But I didn't leave my post empty. I included a fantasy trade which looks pretty good for a fantasy deal if I must say. Showing what we have to get it done. I even put in comments on why I felt it would be good for Minny and why it would be good for Knicks. So there for you just wrote around 30-40words, about 6-7 sentences, 3 lines, and still didn't say anything.
I don't know why everyone is insistent on trading away Curry. You know how many teams would kill to have a center than can draw the attention that Curry does. We just need to teach him how to play better defense, pass out of the double team effectively and surround him with shooters. To me, our biggest problem is consistent production from the SG and SF positions. We need solid two-way players at both positions and other than Q we don't have that. That is where my focus would be as far as trades. Frye easily could get us a solid SG. I think Balkman is our SF of the future if he develops a jump shot. With him and Lee on the court, we will lead the league in rebounds for the next 7-8 years. Plus, Balkman has the potential to be a true shutdown defender (to the extent there is such a thing).

Im not insistent on trading Curry, A fantasy trade proposal popped up in my head for KG after there coach got fired, and I decided to write in on the message board. And I didn't want to just throw Curry away so I thought about switching picks so that we could get a lottery pick out of it as well. Garnett to win now, lottery pick to win in the future, and we would still keep Frye & Lee.
