i agree w/u there... i think giving him the green light to launch shots is the worst thing to do... he needs to play in a structured system & the coach needs to demand that he looks to orchestrate the offense first & foremost over taking bad shots after winding down the shotclock w/over dribbling.

Balkman is one of the better defenders on the team, he is a better defender than jj and is the best rebounding on the team other than lee and i think that includes q, we play better with lee and balk out there, and he would have had an impact if isiah knew anything about coaching....

jamal doesn't have to start. jamal has to learn how to play the damn game.

those alleyoops to curry don't make us a better team. him learning how to defend and take better shots will.

until then, he will forever be a pansy.

I agree, jamal can throw oops in his sleep, that is not his problem. Learning how to play ball properly, utilizing his skills to the full and in a team setting is his problem.

Guys are so obsessed who starts versus who comes off the bench..Does that first minute matter that much...How about the guys that play the majority of the mins...Are they getting it done....I see guys here go on rants about JJ and Frye,...JJ played 4 mins and Frye 14...Frye played 4 mins when the game really mattered...What are the rest of the team doing in 44 mins....Jamal takes bad shots and kills the flow of the offense...He almost never takes a shot in the rhythm of the offense...He is very disruptive..He has the talent and needs to adjust his game...Can he be really thinking everything is going well so I don't need to change a thing??..Please, Jamal needs to ride the pine until he figures this all out...His late game heroics hurts us for the next game because he chucks it and kills us trying to regain the glory..he can adjust, we have seen him do it...Starting him isn't going to change him play, it's telling him nothing is wrong with what he is doing....

The first minute matters a whole lot. You establish confidence, you establish a lead, you set the tone. its everything. have you not been watching? diddnt you see how many times we got down early this year?

Not starting Frye maybe will light a fire under his butt. The last two games he has been terrible and he still starts. Make him earn his spot.

I totally agree with that...But don't tell me you haven't seen days where Frye is off the a hot start and then he is bench the second half so DLee can get his minutes...I can name about two times in the last week where Frye is off to a 12 and 8 boards first half and gets benched the second half...Tell me you haven.t seen these games???

And I was the first one to say that Frye should have been playing. That is on the coach IT who I dont think knows how to do rotations

I think that was the knock on IT when he was at Indiana. Good with motivating and individual growth of players, bad with prep and in-game adjustments. Funny thing is, Isiah would have been a better coach last year and this year and THEN hire LB when the young guys had confidence.

Martin - and you don't think Larry Brown would have STILL come behind Isiah, (or anyone else for that matter), messed with players minds and still blown it up?

How does anyone know about prep or in-game adjustments if they don't attend practice?

Man, we talkin' 'bout PRACTICE!

Thomas had Lee guarding House in the last seconds? Is that good coaching when he could have taken Curry out of the game who is a terrible rebounder and put in Cato or Balkman?

i never see Jamal react when Curry slams the alley oop pass... Curry lets out his scream like he does everytime he dunks on someone... i actually like when he does that (unless of course we're losing the game by 20, in which case you probably shouldn't be gloating over any made bucket)

Jamal needs to start. IT isn't clean or the best looking game you can see, but when the day is done and you add up the good then subtract the bad, Jamal does more for this team night in and out then his stats show and is a better player starting then bench player. People focus on the bad and don't even realize the good jamal does for the knicks. HOw easy he makes the game for marbury and curry, and how much attention he gets being on the floor. He's defnese is bad at times, but this isn't the Spurs. I don't see the any other team at our trying to sit there best players for bad starters like JJ2. Who doesn't even help the teams overall D anyway.
He is not a 6th man and doesn't perform well coming off the bench. Jamal is guy who needs to work him self into the game. Why do people keep calling him a sixth man????
