18-24... something we can all be proud of!

Kinda weird to write an article about how much better the KNicks will be after they just beat us at home.

1) This is a positive article so why always go for the negative?
2) Clearly the writer is speaking about the future not now or the past
3) Is what he said about our 2 teams futures so unrealistic? Is it unrealistic that Curry will keep improving? He is barly 24 years old. Is it possibly Jkidds game will decline as he hits the late 30's?
I think if Eddy ever dedicates himself to this game and works on having an NBA body he will be an elite type (top 10) player. Until that happens I think what your seeing now is Eddy's upside.

The only thing stopping Eddy is Eddy. He's simply too fat for 24. This isnt a Shaq/Barkley scenario, those guys were physical monsters in their 20s.

I think Eddy (like Jamal) is a great kid. I think he's a good person. Plenty of jerks in todays sport, and Eddy is clearly one of the good guys.

But when I watch him live I see the same thing. He simply doesnt try on defense. He's not as explosive as he was a couple years ago. I see a lot of layups where there should be dunks. I see he simply doesnt want to jump and go after balls. He looks gassed.

Yes, he's a great athlete but his game isnt compete. In fact its so bad on one side of the court his production is often negated. If he loses 30 pounds you will all see what I'm talking about. Until then he will continue to suck wind at that end of the court, and the Knicks will continue to be inconsistent on a nightly basis.

I hold Curry to a higher standard. Isiah brought him in to be an impact guy. Thats why he gave up what he did to get him. Expecting our franchise player to show up in shape so he's able to play basketball at both ends of the court isnt too much to ask IMO

i don't have a problem holding Curry to a higher standard, cuz like u said, he is supposed to be our franchise for the future... just get bothered when people compare him to Shaq & Ewing as if he should be at their level by now when you know he's still a work in progress & has some years left to fully mature & grow into his game... i doubt he'll ever be a defensive monster down low though... he just doesn't have the natural inclination to guard guys as he does when he gets the ball down low & is asked to score.

he definitely needs to work on his conditioning & lose some of that weight so he can get off the floor quicker on those rebounds & shotblocks.

scratch that.

i win.

Sure DJ. Whatever you say. You are right. No other Nets have rebounding inside position on Qrich and Lee. Its Curry who isnt boxing out. Good fair call.

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

amazing. you see vince below quentin and rj in front of lee and you jump to your conclusion.

go watch the replay and see how they got into those positions in the first place.

and then watch curry completely ignore his guy behind him.

Curry will never Be Shaq, or Patrick. They are top 10 centers of all time. We traded a 2006 1st round pick in one of the worst drafts in recent history. We also gave up an OPTION to SWAP that may be at most us falling back 10 slots before picking.

That is chump change for a 24 year old post game center. Shaq qould never be traded willingly at age 24 for less than 3 allstars or 10 first round picks. Ditto Patrick. Isiah knew to have a chance at a ring you need a legit big and that he was taking a chance on Curry. He didnt pay a Shaq price. He didnt pay a Patrick price. We gave up chump change for what we got. Kmart in a siagn and trade went for 3 #1 picks. Nazr went for 2 #1 picks. Curry will never be Shaq or Patrick so to hold him to that level is ridiculous. He does need to continue to work hard and improve but to make like if he isnt the best center in the NBA he is a failure is not fair to anyone.

So he is suposed to watch Carter, RJ and have eyes in the back of his head watching Clif oh and the ball. Once again once the ball went up why is Curry the only Knick getting rebound position?
The funny thing is you say ignore. Curry could score 50, rebound 20, block 5, cure cancer and diabettes tonight and you will ignore all that and ask why he didnt have any assists. You have become Major #2. Its a shame because you used to be a lot more fair.

fair? the guy is a total one way player. i'm only posting b/c you can't seem to stop your eddy curry crusade. i could care less about the guy.

i know the guy is useless defensively. completely useless. but offensively he's dominant. that makes him a total one way player.

kind of like ray allen or tony parker. they can score but they don't do nothing on the other side of the ball to help you.

but you see, tony parker wins b/c they have tim duncan. but ray allen doesn't b/c, well, he doesn't have tim duncan.

we can keep eddy as a center but he's just a scorer. so we need to beef up the rest of the frontcourt so they can play defense, rebound and intimidate the paint b/c eddy does not provide that. and the big difference is that those aspects of the game should be coming from that position.

nobody is saying trade eddy nowadays. threads are popping up to trade frye. so yeah, we all hate your guy and are completely delusionary.

you're the one that's so paranoid that any little criticism and you go nuts about it.

marv, get some candles and help this guy out.

No one's asking Curry to be Shaq or Ewing. We're just asking him to come in shape. Right now, I'd guess he has around 25 pounds of too much fat. Most NBA players are probably in single digit % body fat. Eddy's ruining his chances of reaching his potential with the extra fat he's carrying. Look at the picture of Shaq in Orlando that I posted. That is the shape Curry needs to be in if he wants to reach his potential. I'm not saying he has to play like Shaq, but he needs to get in better shape.

Once again the minute anyone posts a positive news article about our team the bashers have to go on the attack.

Curry just cured Cancer. Go ahead and bash him because he did not cure heart disease, lol.

DJ I must be the first person to ever speak to you about your bashing of knicks players. My bad. I dont know where I ever got that from, lol. :)

I really used to like your posts despite the negativity. I loved your blogs but in the last couple of weeks I dont read your blogs because despite our getting better (500 ball for over a month) you seem to be getting more negative

the nets are the worst nets team they've had since kidd has joined them. plus their missing krstic for the year.

that was a big game for us and it's a dissapointing loss considering how important all our players said it was. they played like crap until the final 5 minutes of the game.

the nets played like total crap too and vince damn near singlehandedly cost them the victory.

it's basic basketball, that i bet every single one of us do at the gym, when a shot goes up, get in rebounding position and box out. real simple. this guy has been a big man his entire life. it should come 2nd nature. this wasn't an old "savvy" vet doing a "savvy" vet move. it was guy that jumped right over another guy to tip it in.

and if he had a running start, then it's an over the back. he tipped it in and didn't even touch curry until he landed.

curry was watching the play b/c that's what he always does on defense, watches the play.

Now I know you wouldnt bash Curry and ignore the other Knicks on the play so please tell me which Knicks were boxing out on the play. You say Curry wasnt. So please go ahead and tell me which Knicks were. Do you need me to get the picture for you to remember?

Dude, I've never seen someone so sensitive about a player receiving criticism before.

Vote this man in for president.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Why is it wrong to hold Eddy accountable for not boxing out his man, when his man went over Eddy's back to tip in the winning score?

This sums up the problem people have with him right now. Fancy stats, but lack of effort on that end of the court costs us every night. Against the Nets it cost us the game.
