when you speak on other teams, it's an uproar, when you speak on your own team, it's not an uproar, and I'm still reading and rereading the quote where he admits we aren't good.

“If this becomes a rivalry, that’s good, because that means that we’ve gotten to the point where we’re looked at as a pretty good team,” Thomas said. “New Jersey is a pretty good team. But you can really only have a rivalry when you have two pretty good teams.”

Nope, still do not see it.

LMAO! He admits New Jersey is a Good team and then omits that his team is and all but said they aren't.

When RJ said this, there was an uproar, now when Isiah says it, it's ok?

Double Standard as always. This was a poor choice of words no other way to look at it.

What could he have said that you would not be starting a thread about?

I really don't care about what he said, I just thought it was funny that RJ said this and people were pissed.

i coulda swore he said the same things about the nets 3 years ago when we played them in the playoffs. they got older, lost kmart, have no krstic and he's still saying the same things. i guess it still applies, so he's not wrong.

I think he was saying this was a rivalry and that we have two pretty good teams.

is this a rivalry? if you agree it is, then you agree the knicks are pretty good.
The nets have three all stars, bulletin board fodder is the least of our concerns.

Still can't see where he admits we are not good.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

He could have said..... "We have risen to the occassion a few times this yr against Good Teams this yr. Here's another test tonight to prove we're just as good. With the division being as close as it is by getting an edge on a team in your division to the point you beat them regularly in meaningful games is what makes it a rivalry."

Well maybe he should hire you as a PR advisor. When he is asked a question hell call you and give you 12 hours to think about the best answer.

An intelligent human being would say "Right now we are both fighting to win the division, they have had more success than us for a few years, but we think we closing the gap and making progress" Not that they are a good team they have 2 more wins, they are not a good team right now, no point in highlighted it......

The fans don't see what i see

Thats why those guys get paid a lot of money---aha aha ahah ahah

We are not going to win the game if they 14-20 from three----aha aha aha

Highlighting Lees poor shooting....

The guy should just abstain from talking

I agree!

We are 4-21 against the Nets since Kidd arrived. In that same time the Nets appeared in 2 championship series and tough playoff outs in the others. Meanwhile, across the river, we were embarrased by those same Nets in the playoffs, and failed to even pretend to be in any playoff race after November. Hence, the Nets are a pretty good team, there is no rivalry, and upon further notice, we haven't proven to be a pretty good team if the Nets teams over the yrs qualify as pretty good.

Again what is the problem with what IT said?

That's the point fans are missing he admits New Jersey is a Good Team. Like you also pointed out is a 2+ win advantage a means to state it publicly.

That's actually pretty funny and kinda accurate. It does sound a bit like that. I wouldn't hang on every word Isiah says. Maybe he didn't choose his words carefully, but really... who cares? We aren't a good team, not yet, so even if he said that, I don't see the controversy.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

btw...I feel it's a rivalry. hence this being the biggest of the UK get togethers, me trying to forward my clock and setting my schedule around this game.

This one is HUGE...does that not a rivalry make?

To some it's always a rivalry. When your the underdog AND you slip up and win you can beat your chest for a day.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Of course its a rivalry, the Nets love rubbing it in, dunking on this team, throwing alley opps and take a pleasure running this team off the floor, intimidating the team, etc......

Instead of having spontaneous Q and A with the media, maybe Isiah should havre all questions faxed to the PR department. That way they can researh each question with percise accuracy and include a works-cited, table of contents and footnotes. Then and only then, the answers can be faxed back to the media (about a week later to give them time to research). The Q and A's would be a week behind the actual calendar and wouldn't make much sense but at least Isiah will give the answers that everyone feels he should give.

isiah doesn't talk to the media, the fans or the players. everything he says is directed to dolan. that's why he never criticizes his team and always praises the opposition.

Well, to be fair to Zeke, he has that MSG public relations watchdog looking over his shoulder whenever there's a mic near him.

Imagine if Zeke had more rope and said to the press what he really wanted.

Dolan is one paranoid simp.

I would've loved to be in the locker room after that Charlotte game.
