while that's true, it's also true that there's hardly another market in sports where you'll gain as much prestige & glory if you help to win a championship in than NYC... so if Okafor wants to stay in Charlotte because he'd be too scared to take on the challenge of playing in NYC, then to hell with him... let him rot there... (obviously i'm not saying there's any chance we can trade for him anytime soon anyways)

Sure market analysts know this and sure big business cares about this however there are many NBA players who could care less about this. Look NYC hasn't seen an NBA Championships for 30 years so its not like all these players are passing on this opportunity to win a ton of Championship. Where your getting the idea that he's too scared is beyond me. Okafor dealt with the Metropolitian media his entire college career so though you may want to slam the guy for not wanting to come to NY he' still has plenty of legitimate reasons for not wanting to come to NY.

A lot of players want nothing to do with NYC. Its a much easier way of life outside NYC. Duncan said he would never play in NYC. Duncan has it easy. Lives in a beautiful suburban home that is 15 minutes from the arena and 10 minutes from the practice facility. Doesnt have to deal with traffic. Doesnt have to worry about the media taking pot shots at him. Can go anywhere he wants in town without a possy or body guards.

Tim Duncan always comes across as a guy who, if you just stuck him in a town, would just be a really tall guy. He seems like someone who would live in an $800/mo 1-br apartment and drive a Geo Metro or hope on the subway, even though he has millions. :)

Exactly. Therefore, NYC is useless.

And why would the bobcats ever trade Okafur for Frye and Lee, he can play the whole game and do what they do combined with shotblocking......They can draft Oden or Durant, either one would make them better than the knicks for eternity

If the cats got Oden maybe a combo Frye plus Lee plus nate plus a #1 would do it

If they get Oden, they move OK4 to the 4 and trade other guys like May or Brezec.
