AI is the most talented PG to play in this ERA (even though his game is more that of a SG)... i'd put him up against most of the greats of the past like Isiah, Magic & Stockton easily in terms of raw talent as well... yeah, that's a bold statement, but AI's a special player that doesn't come around that often... his attitude & off the court issues are a different matter, but in terms of pure basketball talent, i think he's right up there w/the best of alltime.

He is unquestionably, in my eyes, the most talented point guard of his era.
Wow; that's a huge statement! He's certainly up there with Baron, Francis, AI, and Wade (and maybe KJ) in terms of raw athleticism, speed, stength, and coordination. I don't know if he's ahead of them in those areas, though.

It's an insult to AI, Kidd, Nash and Wade to put anyone else in their class.

Wade and A.I are more associated with the 2...so they're out. There is a reason why AI was moved off of the one after his first couple of years.

Nash??? Please. He's the classic overachiever. He doesn't overwhelm anyone with lights out talent and ability.

Kidd. Love Kidd to death, but he never met a jumpshot he couldn't slam off the iron. Him being such an offensive liability separates him from Starbury.

I think he is a notch above Davis and Francis.

I'm not a stat geek, but I remember hearing that Marbury was putting up numbers similar to Magic and I think the Big O. Im talking about talent here. Put him one on one in a gym or a park type deal. Pure ability. Now how that manifests itself on an NBA court is another thing. I'm not going to argue with anybody about wins and losses. Yep, Marbury is the most talented PG of his era. I stand behind that.

The reason AI didn't play the point his whole career is Larry Brown. Did it work out? Not really.

To me, the best point guard since Isiah and Magic left is Kidd. You can't argue with what he does on a court, which is pretty much everything. Nash is a pretty close second. If we're talking about talent, sure Marbury, Baron and co come into the discussion, but I don't think you can call Kidd's passing and leadership abilities anything other than talent. The guy was born to play the PG position and he's one of the best ever.

Right now, Chris Paul probably has the most natural talent to play the position.

Truth is, everyone here should be glad marbury is playing better. But thats not the case, you dog him when he plays like crap and make jokes when he is playing good ball. So it's a no win situation, he is a big reason the team is playing better.

you have to also notice that steve francis is not far behing in 8th place while curry is behing nazr muhammed. that proves that you can't take this voting seriously. curry, at his current rate, should be an all star. marbury should not.

Nice stats

Season: 13.9 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 5.4 asts

They're not all-star stats. The smaller the rotation we've gone with (due to injuries and suspensions), the better Marbury has played. But since that isn't going to be the norm, I expect him to regress once we have a full team again.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

the jokes will stop when he leads this team deep into the playoffs... until then, he's gonna have to deal with it, cuz when you go off & make statements that you're the best PG in the game, & are making the dollars he's making, you are going to be held to a different standard whether you like it or not... that's just reality.

that said, i think i've made several kudo posts to Marbury's play of late... when he deserves props, i give it to him, but 2 months doesn't erase 2.5 years of disappointment & failure to reach expectations.

Marbury played well his first 1.5 years here leading us to the playoffs...His feud with Brown was the highlight last year...To suggest he was bad for 2.5 years is just plain wrong...

I think he played great his first year here. The next year he was still great on offense but he slacked on defense.

Please find me where I suggested that Marbury was a bad player over the full 2.5 years he was here? Once again you misinterpret a poster's comments & insert your own definitions. I said the 2.5 years he's been here, he's been a disappointment & hasn't lived up to expectations. He came in as "the conquering hero", the hometown Brooklyn born kid who was going to bring glory back to this franchise. That's how he was hyped up by himself, Isiah & the Knicks organization as a whole. I expected him to change the culture around here & be 1 of the main reasons for a return to a winning tradition. He's done the exact opposite. Don't give me the crap about him putting up #'s & leading this team to an embarassing sweep in the 1st round of the playoffs his 1st year here at the hands of the hated cross town team. The Knicks were a horrible team that year too. They had no business being on the same court w/that Nets team, & it showed.

Like I said before, if he can lead this team deep into the playoffs, I'll cut him the slack he'd deserve. Otherwise, he better keep growing that thick skin cuz I'm gonna keep expecting a whole heckuva lot out of him, & keep bashing him when he doesn't deliver (while also proppin him up when he does). That's what a real fan does. Eternal rose colored glasses wearing Kool-Aid drinkers will love a player regardless if he does well or not. Sorry, but Marbury's just not that likeable for me to cut him that much slack. I'm going to judge him based on how much better he makes this team.

Well if you thought the addition of Marbury to that group of about 6 guys no longer in the NBA was going to lead the Knicks back to their winning tradition then you don't know much about basketball...

Sure we all thought we would have been in a better place today after that trade but it's hardly Marbs' fault they way things turned out the last few years..

WOW. Welcome to "Spin City". I don't think that has very much to do with anything TMS said, nor is it even a valid point.
