If I had to trade Channing Frye, I'd do something like...
A. Channing & CHI's unprotected pick for Danny Granger
B. Channing & Nate for Josh Smith
C. Channing, Malik, Nate & cash considerations for Gerald Wallace & Brevin Knight
D. Channing, D Lee, Francis, Malik, Nate & CHI's unprotected pick for Kevin Garnett & Marko Jaric
E. Channing for Chris Duhon

I choose D, because I think KG & Curry is dominant.

C-Curry
PF-Garnett
SF-QRich
SG-Crawford
PG-Marbury

Bench:
C-James
C-Cato
SF-Jeffries
SF/SG-Balkman
SG-Jaric
PG-Collins

I would have to be looking to sign a PF off the bench, because we're too thin there, but past that, it's a nice team. I think it's actually overpaying for Garnett (I'd try to at least pull the Chi pick from the deal), but I'd still have to do it.

You have to get the unprotected pick for the trade to be worthwhile. However, I don't think the Wolves would give up an unprotected pick just to get rid of KG, especially when they're not getting a big star in return.

The trade mentioned had *us* giving up a pick, not the Wolves, no?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

It's not smart to keep Frye and Curry long-term. I'd trade Curry and keep Frye. You have to sell high and keep the harder working player who always shows up in shape.

I would just keep Frye and let him develop, that way we don't have to deal with 1,000,000 threads next year about how Frye is flourishing elsewhere while we are stuck with some injured guy----just like we are with Ariza/Francis this year.

oohah
develop where? So long as Eddy stays out of foul trouble Frye isnt getting touches in the post. We are developing him to be a great international player. A 7 footer with a long jumper. Awesome. And Frye doesnt DESERVE any playing time at PF where Lee has established himself as our best frontcourt player.

where does he fit? Maybe we just keep him around in case Eddy has a heart attack?

Hey Fish, where you been? I would like to see Frye utilized in more different ways, but having a 7 footer who can shoot well is not a terrible thing. Just think of him as a guy that won't get blocked a lot. Frye is playing more efficiently these days, and I see him picking his spots better and showing us some different things, like that turnaround J he has flash a few times.

Young, hard working, talented players tend to get better, and I think Channing will. However, if he is traded, fine, but lets get a good player for him, not trade him for a pudding pop like so many of these silly hypothetical trades floated around here!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I wouldn't mind trading Frye for LaMarcus Aldridge.

That's what I'm saying. YOu get a lotter pickin thisdraft and you are almost guaranteed a 1-3 starter. Forget mostof these trades get the player we need and mold him from scratch. Frye for a lottery pick and a backup point would be great.

Would you guys do this deal? Frye & Malik Rose for Biedrins & Adonle Foyle?

i would most definitely do that trade if it were on the table... Biedrins would be a perfect complement to Curry, & we would still have D Lee bounding & astounding... Foyle could join Big Turd & Cato on the bench & form their own rap group... it would be a beautiful thing.

I missed this thread before I posted in my other thread. Good stuff.

Danny granger would be great in a knick uni. Balkman off the bench with Jared? Even malik at times to do what he does and that is annoy the duncans and brands of the league.

I'm soooo done with frye. Send him to indiana and watch him look pretty for the Hicks out there. Hope he goes there and gets 20 and 10 with Jermaine oneal watching his back. We got lee and curry. Let's rock!

I would trade Frye for a younger version of Reggie Miller.

I say Josh Smith, he is more seasoned than granger. We really don't need another scorer on the team. The person has to be able to defend, block shots, and hit an occasional jumper. The fact that he is atheletic as all hell is an extra bonus. We really don't need to concern ourselves with pg at this point. We should only think about pg situation when Marbury is in the last year of his contract. We could trade him or hopefully get someone via FA. I think he is good enough for us at this level.

Karl Malone had no offensive game either, Ty Thomas is a worker and someone that is going to do somethings we can't do, block shots, you use frye to get rid of someone though

Channing frye for andres nocioni, that makes a lot of sense for both teams. Maybe a resigned nocioni and sweetney or another filler for frye and malik rose this summer. Nocioni gives us a hard nosed SF that can really mix it up, play good defense, and knock down the open 3. Jeffries can either back him up or slide to the 4 and suddenly we have a nice blend of offense and defensive stoppers and guys who can hit the 3-ball when curry gets doubled. As for chicago, they already have deng, and frye is a player they could really use as he would be a nice compliment to wallace.

Keep Frye

He's only a sophomore who missed a significant part of last season.

Unless you prefer to watch him develop, like Ariza, or Camby, or Matt Barnes.... for someone else.

Besides, why break his friendship bond with David Lee? Lee and Curry knew each other from high school. Curry and Crawford are friends. The young Knicks have not played togther a year and the best we can offer is another wet dream trade fantasy?

Anyone who believes in team chemistry, or having intelligent ballplayers... why does trading Frye make sense?

i forgot to check with you first before discussing fantasy trade proposals... my bad... didn't mean to clutter up your forums with this drivel... i guess others don't mind talking about it though judging from the amount of replies on this thread... maybe next time you'll just avoid clicking on the link if you're not up to add anything constructive to the conversation.

I would do him but we have his clone in Lee. Josh Smith would be an absolute STEAL because he gives us things that this team is really lacking(shotblocking, and above the rim guy)-albeit from an unorthodox position.

Curry
Lee
Smith
Insert 2 guard here
Crawford

would be just crazy as a lineup.
