lee, curry, balkman, crawford, and Frye.

That's a decent start.

Unless they find some kind of role where crawford can show consistency, he's not a winning player--check that he is 1/3 games. If he could compensate a shtty game with great defense, that's one thing--but from aside from an occasional steal, the guy has a weak body and lets guys go right around him

I'd keep Curry and Lee.
I'd like to keep frye and Nate but might have to trade them.
Jcraw and Q are 2 others I'd like to keep but who I would trade in the right deal.
Baclkman is over rated by Knicks fans
Jeffries is over rated by Knicks fans
Marbury should have been dumped 2 years ago. He rarely gets the player the ball in his hands at the right time.
Francis dumped
Malik I would keep for his leadership
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

^^^^ I would trade JC/Q & JJ2/Balkman to get a player who will step up at the end off games and the team can lean on. Marbury & Francis have got to go!!!!

The player I would really like to get my hands on is pietrus, but i don't think the warriors would give him up....

I don't think we are overating balkman, I think we like him, because he brings a little something extra out there every now and again, and shows you a small glimpse of his potential.....

I like his ability to go by someone and finish with a statement, his long arms that allow him to challenge shots and get blocked shots from a position we aren't used to getting, and every now an again is lights out on the boards. And when you compare him to jefferies what does JJ do that much better, and the question is nothing.......the main reason the knicks will never be good under isiah, because what does jj1 do that much better than cato, probably nothing, but yet we have 60 million invested in two players that don't get you more than 6pts and 5rbs....JJ2 never blocks shots either

I would trade JC, Q, Jeff, Balkman, Marbury and Francis for 1 real player but thats not how the league works. You cant pile up junk and expect another team to trade a real player for a huge pile of junk. If I was Isiah I would make a non stop effort to trade Marbury and Francis 24/7. I would take back either shorter contracts or contracts the same length and a #1 pick. I would then sign some young shooter from the NBDL and a PG from the NBDL or Europe. I also then would look to move the others we mentioned but first Jeffries and Balkman. I think both are way over rated by Knicks fans. I dont know many great small fwd sized players in todays nba that cant hit a shot outside of 2 feet.

I think Balkman is better then you say. Helooks like hecan become a pretty good player. He's shooting form is pretty good.

I hope I'm wrong but Balkman makes Lee look like Rip Hamilton as a outside shooter to me.

I agree he's not a winning player yet. But that's because he's not on a winning team. I see him in a 6th man role with healthy minutes (ala Ben Gordon). Two things I think are invaluable about Crawford:

1 - unspoken connection with Curry good for at least 10 points a game if focused on.

2 - cajones. A big shot taker who comes through is rare. Even star players choke (Steph, KG, Pierce, Carter, etc.) a pleyer who wants to take the big shot is a huge plus for me. Plus he hits clutch foul shots as well. almost as ice as Billups

^^^ YEp, I think Crawford would be the darling of the league if he wa playing on a team where there were two players better them on it, instead of having to be "the guy" in crunch time on our team.

Crawford?

Gordon has been in the league three years and his fg% has gone up slightly every year, and is currently at 44.7. Gordon is also doing more with 7 less minutes a night, and he is also been in the nba for 6 seasons and has 3 years on ben, so you think he would show some progress. And more importantly Crawford has two inches on him, and his arms are much longer. The guy doesn't learn and is brain dead out there.

Crawford on another team would be great- he's not good enough to carry us and that's what he is trying to do.

He's been on bad teams- don't think that is an indictment of him.

Put him on Dallas or Orlando or the lakers or San Antonio- and he'd be perfect- come in, run the offense, if his shot isn't falling, back to the bench. If he gets hot, he stays in.

With us, we have to live or die with him.

Ben Gordon doesn't have to run the offense or get his own shot or take every shot at the end of the game. Gordon is in a great situation. Crawford has way too much on his plate and is expected to carry his team every quarter of pretty every game. Ben Gordon scores in the 4th and that's all he is asked to do, plus he is protected on the defensive side of the ball.

I thinkJCwould be great on another team with a real players/star/leader.

you haven't watched ben gordon enough. he's got the green light to shoot all game. especially as a sixth man. he creates his own shot off the dribble. %'s don't lie. he shoots when he wants and he's shooting 44%. gilbert is similar. crawford is around 40% career wise and he's around there now. he's just not a good a shooter as gordon is.

10-23's are followed up with 5-16's with jamal.

I'd be willing to trade everyone except Lee. I'd like to hold onto Frye because he's a big that stretches the floor, appears to have a back to basket game, and has potential to be a decent shotblocker. Q is a big ?. I like what he brings defensively, of course his shooting but I feel he's probably the best lockerroom guy on the team, he has the leadership quality a team needs. Everyone else can go.

I'd trade Craw, Curry, Nate, to N.J. for Williams, and Jefferson

I'd trade Marbury, Balkman to Sota for Ricky Davis, Trenton Hassell, Griffin

Try to get some draft picks out each deal even if it's just second rounders

PG=Williams/Francis/Mardy
G=Q/Davis
F=Jefferson/Hassell
PF=Lee/Frye/Jeffries/Rose
C=Frye/Griffin/James

The team's payroll would come down tremendously. The team could build around Marcus Williams, Lee, Frye, and surround them with young veterans like Q, Jefferson, Davis. The team would have some perimeter defenders in Q, Jefferson, and Hassell. It would have a bench in Steve and Davis. The only weak position would be center and that's what you focus on improving.

I also think Frye and Q are also keepers...Just one thing tho...Again, I have been down this road many times...How is it David Lee gets a pass here when he plays absolutely no defense....I mean I have been a Knick fan for a very long time...Every player is always held accountable in NY for his play...No one here except me holds this guy accountable for his defense...IT IS NOT OK TO LEAVE YOUR MAN WIDE OPEN TO GRAB A REBOUND!!!...Please guys don't tell me about rebounding numbers when he is basket hanging to pile up rebounding numbers...Trying to stop your opponent is still a very important part of the game!!!!

Give me a f break. David Lee is the 2nd best player on the team and by far the most consistent and he IS the team's MVP. I can live with him learning on the job defensively when the darn kid is going 14-14 60%+ and playing tough. He's the ONLY guy on the team who I would NEVER trade.

Please don't pump your chest about 14 boards when 4 or 5 of them he should be on the three point line guarding his man....
