I think ISIAH will make a trade to try and get KG....and that will save his job.

He wants Frye and others to play well so their trade value goes up.

Maybe when the team is on the road sometome.

Making the trade while at home would be too much hoopla.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Well... look at what Miami did by acquiring Shaq. They gave up a lot to get him... but it resulted in a title. I think that's worth it. There's no guarantee that KG would guarantee a title, but he'd do a lot for the legitimacy of our chances THIS YEAR.

There's one big difference between those two players given the situations. Shaq proved he could win a championship(s) on the other hand K.G. hasn't had that great of post-season success. I'm not trying to knock K.G because he's one of my favorite players but you have to consider that move.

if the deal was for Duncan, i'm all over it... i don't know about KG though... he's never been able to get into the Finals even w/Cassell, Spree & Wally playing alongside him

If Minny says yes you have to do it. Like someone else said I'd want to hold onto Lee or if not him Frye, and replce them with a future pick, but if you can get KG you do it, you just have to. That gives us a 3 year window to win a title, and we would be contenders with KG, Curry and Steph. Me and DJ could fill in the other 2 spots and we would still be contenders.

Shaq and Duncan dominate in the playoffs with their back to the rim post games. KG doesnt have that kind of game. That is the major difference but we already have a post player so KG would actually fit perfectly.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

David lee with garnett minutes usually puts up

12pts 11rbs

Channing if he were your center, which he would be in Minny

15pts 7rbs 1blk

Nate if he played would give you

11pts 3 assists

38pts 19rbs 5ass 1blk 2stls from the young knicks compared to what kg is doing, i say minny get a nice deal on that one

KG is doing this using one position on the floor - not three - those Knicks stats are from a combined 77 minutes of play. Kg plays 38 minutes a game. So a better comparison is
Knick players 19 9.5 2.5 1.0 2
KG 22.3 12.2 4.2 1.7 1.3

With KG doing his scoring with less shots, getting his assists with less turnovers and playing much better defense.

I like the young guys and holding on to them for the future may be the thing to do - but right now KG is way better then anyone of them or the three of them combined.

But the main point is Minnie couldn't do it because the fans wouldn't except it.

True- but what you are not factoring in is that if Minny trades KG, its to rebuild- and three young pieces still on rookie contracts is way better than KG with his deal and age.

If I were the Knicks and Isiah I do nothing this year....I let my young players develop...As long as they continue to play they have played since the brawl, people will fill the Garden and that's what is important to Dolan...KG and Ray Allen is intriguing but there is nothing like a young player drafted and developing in the eyes of fans...I think Lee and Frye are untouchables right now...The fan base would love these guys in two years it not already....Making a run at KG is just the Starphucking thing that has killed this Franchise the last 7 years....I'll stand pat...

No. He's got only so much time left and that doesn't even guarantee us a championship.

For Emeka or Dwight Howard, that's a different story. I'd do that in a heartbeat.

If they could make a trade for a young SG(like a Josh Smith, Iggy, Pietrus, Deng, Josh Howard-these are only examples) a young guy just before or just starting to come into his own.

I love Q but all rose-colored glasses aside, he really may not be anything more than a 65 game a year guy with his back-if that.

that's a legitimate point... still, i don't trade away D Lee unless we're getting back a young stud on the rise, not a guy like KG whose best years are probably behind him or very near to it... he's an INCREDIBLE player, but we need to think of the longterm, not for a short term fix to try & make a run at the title over the next couple seasons.

it is very tempting though since this team may have a legitimate chance to win a championship w/KG, Curry & Marbury along w/defensive minded players like Balkman, Jefferies, Malik & Cato seeing bigger minutes in the regular rotation... ANYTHING but D Lee man... i'd throw in unprotected picks if i have to.

I think what Frye gives us is easily replaceable. The intangibles Lee would give that team off the bench isn't

I'm an advocate of trading for KG but not for both Frye AND Lee. You want to make a package around Frye and Nate? Sure, I'm definitely down for that but not including Lee, he's too good of a rebounder.

If this had a starting lineup of:
Marbury/Q/KG/Lee/Curry that would be pretty damn tough to contend with.

would you trade frye/lee/nate for kg?
