Exactly, hate to be the realist here, but we won in triple overtime to a team that played a down to the wire game last night. We didn't play since Saturday night. The Pistons didn't show up at all tonight in terms of their defense.

wow... finding excuses for this ot win?

what other team can boast 4-0 ot record

Marbury looked like the Marbury I remember from the Clippers game back in the winter of the 1st season we got him. Vintage Marbury today, he played outstanding today. Hopefully he is finally out of his PMS mode and back to his normal self.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Dont get too excited if Steph doesnt foul out we dont win. Rip had 50 on him and when IT was forced to put JJ on him he quit scoring

i don't know how you can make that assumption. RIP was tired at the end of the game and would have missed those shots whether JC or Steph was on him. We almost lost in OT becuse steph fouled out, we had no one penetrating to make easier shots rather more standing around and jump shots.

Are you serious?

If Marbs doesn't sink 3 straight form the line, we lose in regulation- who was guarding Steph as he dropped 41?

Hamilton is a 6'7 jumpshooter, how is Marbury really expected to contain that? Rip was simply shooting over the top and caught fire.

I've never been a Marbury fan, but am happy to see him rediscover his game. In the short term, it helps the Knicks. In the longer term, it helps improve his trade value, which also helps the Knicks. Go Marbury!
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

King, Stephon made every single clutch shot and played tough defense. He kept us in the game until they called that bs foul on him. I wouldn't get excited about Crawford. He starts missing, he keeps missing. He is streaky as hell so if he wasn't hitting those tonight, we would've lost.

It's true that it took our A game to beat a tired Pistons team. But they're a very good team, a very hot team and a very gritty team. We're not as good as the Pistons, but we're playing good basketball now.

Maybe King1 is a downer when he says "don't get too excited," but Marbury CAN'T be expected to gaurd 6'7 jumpshooters, but JJ2 can. Without Marbury we don't win. Without JJ2 . . . we might not have won. Great all around win by a TEAM that shows HEART!

So Marbury cant guard a 6-7 player then the COACH needs to make an adjustment. IT only made the adjustment once Steph fouled out. Guards have killed us all year penetrating and scoring. I am excited about this win, but this team needs some perimeter defense to win games.

I think those were Marbury's biggest free throws at the Garden since Lincoln won the city championship.

King, Sometimes you just have to get killed on a certain matchup.

You put Jeffries on Hamilton, then who does Marbury guard? Billups? Then who does Crawford guard? Prince?

As much as Hamilton torched Marbury, Marbury was torching Billups. Hamilton doesn't score 50 if the game doesn't go 3 overtimes, Delfino made that happen.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I can live with that answer. I just see our guards get torched a lot defensively and this team is close to being respectable if they just bring it defensively

Either that or he is exhausted from playing about 100 mins the last two days...

He was like Foreman against the Rope-a-dope, he shot himself out of the game.

Marbury's play tonight showed exactly why all of the Marbury haters are wrong. You need stars to win in this league, and Curry and Marbury have the potential to be our stars. If we want to win games, then we NEED Marbury to be playing at an all-star level, as he did tonght. Maybe he came into camp out of shape and he's just more fit now, but I truly believe it was COMPLETELY mental with him. The fight got him more minutes and he has risen to the occasion.

Late in the game, or late in the clock, I would still rather Marbury tries to take the ball to the basket or pull up for a pick and roll jumper, than almost anything else. If Craw is on, fine, he can shoot. But Marbury should have the ball in his hands tyring to create. If he keeps playing like he did tonight, then the Knicks can play with teams.

I think I am the biggest Dinglebury basher here, but I never said he was not talented. If he can produce like this and shut his trap then he is great. But when he starts blaming people, pointing fingers and not hustling on D...then I have a problem.

Marbury was playing pretty good d on him, he made alot of tough shots, over multiple defenders. Its not like he was just waltzing into the lane for layups. He was making many contested and off-balance shots. He was on fire.

VERY impressed w/his play last night... big kudos to Steph... let's hope this is a trend & not just a mirage like it was the other times where he starts to play great & then reverts back to his arrogant, selfish Starbury persona... i'm gonna give it more than just a string of 5 games before i believe he's finally seen the light... but for 1 week at least he's been all i could ever ask for in a PG.

We need to start a covert operation to stop the reporter from asking Dinglebury if he is the best PG in the world. Was that Berman or Isola?

The D is what I'm impressed with. A lot of people have been on the guy for a few years now about his defense. WE always heard that he had no lateral quickness and was getting burned just like every other PG in the league because PG's can't be guarded. Blah, blah, blah. Now magically he's gotten lateral quickness and must be playing against PG's that aren't quick because his defense is like night and day. Orrrrrrr...........at least for these five games he's realizing that he wasn't being treated unfairly by the fans and is actually giving an honest effort on both ends.
I just hope that people will like me
