artest never wanted to go to sactown from the get-go. that deal almost didnt happen if ron did not retact his orignal comments.

ask ron if he wants to ball in a knick uniform, and why

pull the trigger zeke....do it!

I would trade Ron straight up for anyone on the roster except Lee. I would do a Frye/Nate/Rose combo for Artest in a NY second.

Curry, Lee, Artest, Marbury, Q.

last year I didn't want Artest- I think I might, for the right chips, make the trade. Yes- we have balkman who plays D- but Artest applies pressure on the offensive end as well- and he is a strong outside shooter.

I would still welcome Ron here to NY. He's a great talent and I THINK he's worth the gamble and I think he could be had for relatively cheap.

The thing that makes this most interest to me is that Sacramento has a player that I covet; Francisco Garcia. I absolutely loved the way this guy played at Louisville, he is 6'7 so he can create some mismatches defensively, he's a very good 3pt shooter, although his % this year doesn't show it. He also is a very long and lanky defensive player, gets his hands in passing lanes constantly. With the emergence of Kevin Martin, he hasn't had the great chance to start in Sac town like he might deserve and this could be a good time to get him.

Channing Frye/Jamal Crawford

Ron Artest/Francisco Garcia

Now I know that Ron wears out his welcome everywhere he goes. It's a known fact. I feel the same way about this trade that I felt about the Marbury trade, not sure if that is a good thing or not. What I mean by this is that I felt the Marbury trade was a good deal because the Knicks needed to bring in a guy like Stephon to see if they could build around him, despite his shortcomings, and the Stephon needed the Knicks because he was going to the only place in the world that could change his reputation and that was home. I feel the same way about the Knicks and Artest in this deal. What's different this time is that RonRon makes about half the money that Stephon makes and he only has 2 years on his deal remaining after this year so if it doesn't work out its not a cap/franchise killer like the Marbury deal has worked out.

Imagine this starting lineup.
Marbury/Q/Artest/Lee/Curry

That lineup has it all. Scoring from the outside, scoring from the post, rebounding and a ton of defense from Q/Artest/Lee. If somehow Isiah could just swing a deal that involved either Francis or Steph and could bring in a bona fide distributing/defensive/leader PG, I think that would be quite a team.

I really do not want to see them trade for anyone else, I want to develop the core we have. The goal of this team should be to stay the course, and look towards the summer when all the big contracts are up. Then look for a free agent. The east is so weak we could stay the course, still have a chance to make the playoffs while just letting the dollars expire.

potential for disaster... just what Isiah should be looking for w/his job on the line this season... makes perfect sense under his "it's just crazy enough that it just might work" plan.

Artest is 1 of the most talented players in the NBA... he's also a powderkeg looking for a spark so set him off again... after the DEN brawl this season & all the negative publicity it brought to the Knicks, i don't see any way Dolan would OK a deal to get Ron Artest.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Or in this case, Artest is just crazy enough that it just might work.

I think the Kings would love to get Frye and/or Lee back for Artest. Either would really fit their system well.
