Didnt some people around here project Bogut to be as good, or better than, Kevin Garnett? Anyway Zeke's recent draft history hasnt received the appropriate pub.

no one said that here.

I was really pulling for Warrick to land on our lap....but I'm prett y pleased with what I.Thomas did with this draft.

Top Ten players in the draft (with the exception of Webster) are playing some really good Basketball.

Isiah really wanted Deron Williams that was his guy he just didn't have the assets to move up, Isiah had the best pick in that draft with Lee, but not really sure about the ohter selections in the long term, for building a winner

for me, Frye and Nate are still OK. Nate as a sixth man energizer and with Frye off the bench leading the second unit. Are either starters for a playoff team going deep into the rounds? No. Can either play vital roles off the bench in that same scenario? Yes. Can either be traded with another player (Franbury) for a legit starter for a contending team? Yes.

And that's exactly WHAT I THINK is going to happen....only It's Francis that's going away

knowing what you know now, would you trade Frye, Nate & D Lee for Chris Paul? (just for argument's sake)

Paul, Marbury, Francis, Craw on the same team... NO. We would suck even worse because our front court would be terrible. I like Paul a lot, but this is the wrong team to consider trading any bigs for guards.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Of course we would be bringing in francis at the deadline if we had paul, yes i would do that deal in a second.....

I would also get rid of crawford right away for expiring contracts.....

Paul is going to play all night, fill up the stat sheet, he is a leader and an superstar going to be one of the best pgs of the generation

And I am willing to bet Marbury and the #7 pick would have got the deal done during the summer, before larry was coaching.....

And to think...it was loudly booed when IT took Lee with the 30th pick in that draft.

I dont remember that at all... mostly people were like who's David Lee?

The guy I wanted was Blatche.

I think most on this board were very openminded when it came to Lee and Nate.

Frye got a lot more criticism.

I wanted to see us get Ike Diogu, Gerald Green, Bynum or Granger.

eh...you might want to reconsider that. I am pretty sure that comment was another Briggs classic which people started to run away with. It was either Garnett, Wilt, John Elway, Babe Ruth or some obscene comparison. No big...I know I'm not going to search for it.

Just good to see that such a late pick is being compared favorably to a number 1 based on actual NBA performance.

i wanted Gerald Greene over Frye... always said it would take a few years to see who the better basketball player ended up to be, so the jury's still out on that one imo.

i have to agree w/u fish... CP is the ideal PG in my eyes... he's good at everything a PG needs to be good at... players like him don't come along very often... i love D Lee & he's my favorite Knick, but i think it would be easier to replace his rebounding than it would be to find a PG like CP... & i'm not married to Frye or Nate whatsoever.

I remember a lot of criticism of that pick. Many thought it was absurd that we gave up Nazr just to get this clown at #30.

1. Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. David Lee
4. Villanueva
5. Felton
6. Granger

Guys like Marvin Williams, Gerald Green, and Bynum all have superstar potential but nobody can argue we got a huge steal at #30. To tell you the truth, to this point, we probably got 3 of the top 12 guys in that draft but doesn't seem like that great of a class.

Looks about right. People were killing me a few months ago when I posted a thread saying that Lee would have been a mid to late lottery pick.

bonn.. thats two different things. One is not liking that trade. Another is not liking that pick.

I think that trade sucked. Look around the league... most teams run a super tight book. If your willing to offer $3mm in cash to teams to buy late first rounders (20-30) you can probably get 2-3 extra picks every year. Usually those late first rounders are traded for a lot less, especially if a guy that team liked gets plucked off the board.

Lee being a very good player has no impact on that trade being bad.

My arguements have been we didnt need to add Malik and Jalen Rose and spend the extra $50-$60mm in payroll so we could draft Lee, Balkman and Mardy Collins.

Think about that.
