My beef is really with Isiah. Call it effort, skill, whatever you want. The Knicks are as bad a defensive team as anyone in the NBA. We itimidate nobody with our hard play, so Isiah told Mardy or whoever to go deliver a cheap shot.

When your losing an honest fight I guess you can always bite an ear right?

Mike Tyson? I wish we were that tough/good! That would mean the finals!

oohah
see... Tyson was *once* a champ. Now he's a has been loser with an ego problem that has no place in his sport and cant do anything right. When given a real challenge he resorted to cheating. Now you see connection?

hard fouls have always been part of the game, I never remember ear biting being a staple of the boxing sport. Guys gave hard fouls in the 70's, 80's and early 90's..... Larry bird did it, the bad boys, ruland and mahorn made a career of hard fouls, oakley, ewing, Starks( also note the reggie miller head butt). Mardy collins gave a hard, but not cheap foul. He could of plasterd smith if he wanted to.. the smart thing in this situation up 19, would be to back the ball out, the clock is your ally, run the clock and go home...

not true... Holyfield simply beat Tyson from beggining to end. It was during the rematch that Tyson bit his ear. He was en route to another beating and took matters into his own mouth.

Anyway this whole thing is obviously part of Isiah's plan to build chemistry and show us how he shines with his back to the wall.

anyway the Tyson comment had nothing to do with Nate or even the foul itself. It had to do with Isiah being outmatched as a coach. He's obviously run out of ways to stop his team from getting blown out every game, so he opted for plan C (kick your guy in the balls and hope he doesnt want to play anymore)

I don't know if you are responding to me, so forgive me If I a responding to your post. I agree, Holyfield was beating tyson, and tyson quit, and bailed out by biting. I don't see the corelation here tho.... The knicks admitted defeat, karl wanted to rub it in. It wasn't as if evander was beating mike and then taunting him in the ring, waving his hand, posing to the crowd in a clasless manner... Nuggets lost to the knicks at home in heartbreak fashion, George karl is a idiot and a bigger fcking moron than Isiah, he tried to rub it in. now his team will suffer for 15 games.... I say GOOD!!!

Holyfield actually got knocked down in the 1st fight w/Tyson if i remember it correctly, but he got back up & kept fighting... that's when Tyson lost his edge when he knew he wouldn't be able to put him away, & Holyfield bullied him in the later rounds & beat him up... it wasn't Holyfield dominating the entire fight tho.

EH did get knocked down early. In fact Tyson connected with some pretty furious Tyson-esque blows. Still Holyfield punched back and connected either at the end of the first or second round was just shaking his head at Tyson like thats all ya got?

We know that Karl is an idiot, but a bigger one than ISiah? Cmon

For those that are still at a misunderstanding how everything transpired, here is EXACTLY what happened:

http://www.hendersonvillenews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061218/APS/612181349
Collins prevented Smith from an easy basket by grabbing him by the neck and taking him to the floor. Smith rose and immediately started jawing with Collins, and Robinson jumped in to pull Smith away. Anthony shoved Robinson away, and Robinson and Smith then tumbled into the front row while fighting.

Just as things appeared to be calming down, Anthony threw a hard punch that floored Collins (actually, he was pushed down by jared when he was...), and New York's Jared Jeffries sprinted from the baseline toward halfcourt in an effort to get at Anthony, but was tackled by a Denver player.

Melo shoved nate and nate slapped at the air to keep his hand off of him, then JR broke free of David lee and tackled nate.

Just an FYI.

Can't we just pretend that Nate ran in swinging? It make for much better generalizing...

i think he left out the part about Nate standing there w/his fists raised in the tough guy 49 cent pose before JR charged him & they went flying into the stands.

Last I looked, talking smack and posing was not an fightable offense.

EDIT:
Atleast among adults. If you can goad another player into getting suspended, more power to you. Now, if you get suspended as well, then that sucks.

no, but acting like an idiot & instigating matters even further didn't help matters.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I didn't hear anything that was said, and you keep overlooking (ignoring) all the things JR did and said, so I guess it's all nate.

JR was losing that fight. He thought he found someone he could beat in Robinson and he ended up looking like he was in a Mexican pro wrestling ring with a midget pummeling him.

actually if you've read anything i've said on the other threads i gave equal parts blame to Nate & JR for this whole mess, along w/Melo for being a sucker punching vagina.

My bad, I didn't see that...I just feel bad for special nate.

He's got rotten luck, but then again, he likes to play with fire.

Remember the dirty hard foul last year that ended channing frye's season?

All Nate.
