WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH!!!!!!!!!!

Its true

I have the game on tape - i went back and watched it... on the free throw by Camby right before the Collins foul.. the MSG camera is on Isiah for mad long.. and you CLEARLY see him say "Dont go in the paint, it wouldent be a good idea, im just letting you know" CLEAR as ****in day... u can even kinda hear it..

This puts the whole fight in a whole new perspective, and Melos reaction and actions in a completely different light.

Melo was not just reacting to the foul.. He was reacting to Isiah boasting to him basically saying "watch out, we about to get dirty"

No wonder Melo was mad..........

Ok Isiah.. you caught... ur snake moves are not classy.. they are not apreciated.. that was LOW.. wow

I think Isiah is going to get a big suspension.. he deserves it honestly, its clear as day, the NBA is going to see it too... wow

I saw that too, but you got it wrong. Isiah is clearly saying something like: "Hey, you wanna see Nate Robinson go apesh!t? Just watch this....

Bottom line is anyone who thinks its okay for the coach to tell a player to go in and commit a dangerous foul on another player is in for a surprise. If there's enough evidence that Isiah did such, which it looks like there is, Isiah will get a suspension. Anyone who thinks such behavior is okay is flat out wrong. Such behavior doesn't belong in the NBA.

[Edited by - Solace on Dec 17 2006 9:38 PM]

Even if Isiah instructed a player to foul, how do you know that he wanted a "dangerous" foul?

You don't, and neither does anyone else.

[Edited by - Rich on 12-17-2006 9:42 PM]

You guys are REALLY grasping at straws to defend Isiah. Let's see, he's caught on tape threatening a player on the other team not to go in the paint, his player DID commit a dangerous foul on another player, after the game Isiah says its justified and Nate says he knew the hard foul was coming.

Isiah is caught red-handed. He's a snake.

So many lip readers that can figure out Thomas' sayings without problems, nevermind that it's actually quite hard to lip read. But here and on RealGM all full of experts.

And it's funny all of you getting almost the same (if not exactly the same) message as Chris Sheridan reported last night. Couldn't it be that you just want to 'read' that from Thomas? Especially if that report stuck in your mind?

Find it quite weird that Thomas was saying that to Anthony, yet noone else heard it. Quite a few people around, shouldn't anyone else picked it up?

What are you talking about? No one else heard it? If by no else you're discounting Anthony and Nuggets personnel, who both claimed to have heard it.

Maybe you're just grasping at straws for Isiah?

Why are people acting like this is the first time they have heard of a coach doing something like this? I agree this does not belong in the NBA but let's not act like this is a new act of conduct. This has been going on since the late 70's, 80's and 90's.

Kurt Rambis, Andrew Lang, Oakley, X-men and a thousand others use to make plays like this. Danny Fairy anyone?

Could we assume that Lawrence Franks made K-mart make that play on Tim Thomas after a timeout when Tim was scoring at will?

Isiah needs to be fired for making this a horrible team not because of this fight.

Nobody is saying its the first time. Again, post-Palace brawl, the rules changed. If you act like a thug, you will be treated like one and punished like one. Furthermore, this was an ugly brawl, and at least one player could've easily gotten hurt. Isiah had a big role in this. Does a coach do something like this in other instances? Probably. But, Isiah actually got caught. That's the difference.

I'll take it with a grain of salt (is that correct expression?) everything that Sheridan reports. It seems that none of the Nuggets were ready to comment but yet he got that quote. Nah. Will wait a while.

And that would be great prognostication of Thomas, knowing that there would be another break away, quick counter attack. Or he told all the Knicks to foul hard?

Yeah,,, if you see it, there is NO QUESTION about what Isiah is saying. It's VERY VERY VERY clear... don't need a Ph.D lip-in reading to know what he's saying.

The truth will set you free.

yeah...because I.Thomas is the only coach that does stuff like this

Im sure Isiah is not the only coach to tell his players to give a hard foul.

I was being sarcastic.

The more I read, the more I'm convinced that NO ONE on this site has ever played an organized sport

i have knicks in 60 dvr'd.

at 1:34 left in the game, camby gets fouled and goes to the line.

isiah is standing on the sideline with his arms crossed. he mouths "that's the risk"

camby then takes the first free throw.

the camera goes back to isiah. and he mouths "hey...don't go to the basket right now...it wouldn't be a good idea...i'm just letting you know" and he's smiling. then when the camera pans out, only melo is looking over to isiah so that's who i'm assuming he's talking to.

then after the knicks miss, on the next play is the mardy foul.

and all the while Camby is thinking "Thank God and Scott Layden that I got the hell outta this place."

IMO, that's an endorsement of Thomas.

sure. but what's masked in this is that the knicks were down 25 in 3 of the last 4 games. looks awfully alot like last december. but hey, he's better than his predecessor (by 2 games) so that criteria is enough to stick around as coach i guess...but his winning percentage is alot lower than layden so what does that mean? i'm confused now...

As another poster said, if the Knicks were winning would anyone care? Stern maybe, but not many fans.

you see, to me, the fight is not the reason isiah should be fired. it should be the way the team is starting to look an awful lot like last year's team in terms of results without all the "lineup changes." knicks down 20+ is slowly becoming the norm. but that's ok b/c those that are critical are on a witch hunt to get isiah canned.
