That's what I think too. I don't think Isiah sent him in to do that. BRIGGS the Knicks were down by 20, Mardy's on the end of the bench, so he gets burn in that kind of sitiation. How about betting a lot of money that Karl was trying to get revenge on Isiah for firing Brown after both had made comments about each other as well, and the Knicks stealing one from the Nuggets earlier in the season?

BS-- use your brain Mardy Collins is a rookie who has played 20 minutes for his career--there is NO way he would've committed a brutal foul like that with 1 minute left without prompting--he did it last night--that is what 15th men are sent out there to do--but this was particularly ugly and really unecessary. I know some people will $pin it, but anyone who knows basketball knows what transpired.

This game might ruin the Nuggets' season if Melo and Smith get the kind of suspensions they deserve

It was a bone head stupid move by Melo. Thats the difference between him and Lebron, you dont go throwing wild punches at someone to defend you teamate when you have nothing to do with it and ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR THEIR FRANCHISE PLAYER . Oh and he gets mad props he sucker punched Mardy and then ran from Jared.

All I know (as well) is that Robinson was about to beat Smith's ass. Took him to the ground and had him down.

If there is going to be a fight I want him on my side.

He was running from Jared Jefferies, bro. He just happened to pass Nate along the way.

NO, I have it very clearly here on my DVR, I'll upload it later if you want to see. After Jeffries fell, Carmello came back at him, then Robinson ran up in front of 'Melo with his hands up and 'Melo reversed directions better than he had all night.

I must have missed that part or saw it differently. He was running from JJ and I saw him pass Nate(who did **** his fist at his hip) and he kept going after that-or at least that is how I saw it.

There's no need to get rude or take your anger about the Knicks out on me, BRIGGS. I actually didn't see yesterday's game. With that info it does sound like it could be the case that Isiah instructed. I don't get what being a rookie has to do with it. Sure, I can see as the 15th man that he can be sacrificed, but none of us really know what happened. You're speculating.

I think from Isiah's comments he was obviously frustrated that the Nuggets were running it up and rubbing it in. There is a good chance that he sent Mardy in and said don't allow layups or showboating. Isiah was a very dirty player and is a snake. He also may feel a conflict with Karl and may have wanted to send a message back to Karl. Neither team handled the end of the game with any class but I don't think either coach expected or would want what happened after the Collins foul.

man, you guys are describing the mardy foul as if it was some career threatening injury...the foul occured, your up by 20...why would u want to pick a fight when the game is safely decided?....

just let the refs handle the situation and shoot the damn free throws....no need for jr smith to get in mardys grill, and there was absolutely no need for melo, camby, dre miller, and smith to bein the game...

Why would IT not be mad ? the team had a bad performance again, the game is clearly over. You substitute and put your bench in conceding defeat. Now the opposing coach decides to leave his starters in to run up the score on your bench on your home court in front of your fans. You dam right, a hard foul was needed. (Not that hard, there are ways to foul hard without be malicious)
I would have done the same thing if I was coach, you want to show me up by getting highlights on my bench on my court ? Not happening. I have a strong feeling if this was 92-94 Riley would have did the same thing. No one knew that a brawl would break out.

collins play reminds me a lot of the 90's knicks- hard foul border on thug like.

yeah, but it wasn't embarassing then b/c we actually could win playing like that, now we just do it to pump our chests out to fool ourselves that we're not the joke of the league ... it's false pride at its worst
