It's all about the Ws and Ls.

In the grand scheme of things, yes it does come down to wins and losses. But anyone watching this team last year and this year can clearly see that the team is much better than last year. You can see that they are on the verge of turning the corner of being more consistent. To ignore that is saying, I only want to see the negative in the situation. I've got players who are responding to their coach, but I want to fire him in his first year of coachinng because everyone has this perception that he is supposed to come in and automatically win 41 games from 23 or make the playoffs. Which with the way things are going is not that far off. statements like that is why analysts say, NY Fans would never accept rebuilding, because rebuilding/retooling involves losing and no one wants to see losing.

I don't know---maybe I was watching someone else go down 30 to the Celtics 36 hours ago? We get these little highs when we beat memphis with no gasol and taking advantage of atlanta missing 40 points--who have a payroll less than marbury and francis. There are some good signs---there are also some good signs with the Charlotte Bobcats with May Okafor and Brezec--get it? And our team is NO where NEAR as young as Charlotte with NO where near the $$$$depth. I we better than last year--yes but werent we supposed win 41 ganmes or close to it last year--if so then you'd expect with all of our great players that we will win 41+

also i hear the mad dog show, chris was actually saying that knick fans should root for them to lose so Isaih can get fired. If this is not a loaded statement, I dont know what is. How does an analyst make that statement ? and still keep his credibility. It sounds like he personally doesnt like IT and it comes out.

Here is my thought. When IT was first hired--I was a big fan of the move and so were others Im sure. He used a crazy method of acquiring players--his latitude for making deals is so far above the next guy [except maybe dallas] that he can afford brash moves like taking on an eddy curry when no one else could afford a financial hit if his health did indeed give out quickly. No team could just take on 20mm+ for a MO taylor with expiring contracts and then add in picks. No one else could trade for Jalen Rose for what was the 21 pick. Along the way--you study his personality and realize he resembles a snake-oil salesman. You add things up and that becomes hard to root for.

Isiah is slicker than Clinton ever was, but not nearly as competent (not even close), but people wouldn't care about that if the team was better.

Isles, you ever work for a boss you couldnt stand ? How was your work performance, did you give the extra effort? They don't need medals, but it has to be pointed out that there is improvement. Also, as crazy as Dolan is, he said it right. What is the plan when you get rid of IT ? Grass is always greener on the other side.

Briggs:
Ok so we have a recurring problem of getting down early and coming back to lose. That can be fixed and I believe it will be fixed. You then discredit the team's win over Memp because they have no Gasol or Atl. Not our fault the guys are injured, if we lost those games you would have had something negative to say too. What about the Miami game, oh wait no Shaq, but there was wade. or the win agains the cavs who had lebron.

Get over the salary issue, it is what it is and that will not change for awhile. It seems that they have figured out that adding bloated contracts is not the answer (no AI) . Yeah ATL does have a small payroll, but ATL has sucked for a very long time, it seems thats what some people here want. In reference to Charlotte, the difference between them and us is simple, they are all young fresh out the draft and their an expansion team. Our players are for the most part nba vets, I am willing to say the Knicks will be better off than the bobcats.

I mean what has Isiah really done? Yes he's drafted Frye, Lee, Nate and traded for Eddy Curry but does that really bring the Knicks closer to a championship?

In my opinion, no it doesn't bring the Knicks closer to a championship because these guys are good players but they are not players that you can build around. These guys will be enough to keep the Knicks in the run for the 8th seed or in the high-end of the lottery but they aren't bad enough to keep the Knicks in the running for a franchise player that will take you out of the lottery and into the playoffs definitively.

I'm not going to come on here and praise Isiah for trading for guys like Mo Taylor, Jalen Rose, Malik Rose, Nazr Mohammed, Antonio Davis, Steve Francis(who he acquired by sending away exiring contracts or contracts with 1 year left on them or draft picks) and say that those were good moves. Acquiring these kind of guys when you're not in the running for an NBA championship is not wise, it makes no sense and it really shouldn't be allowed. The goal shouldn't be to be an 8 seed in the playoffs, it should be to win a NBA championship and I don't see how Isiah Thomas has brought us closer to seeing a championship for our beloved Knicks.

Frye, Nate, Lee, Curry, QRich are nice players but they are not players you can build around to win a championship and I think that is Isiah's biggest failure. Yeah Dolan might want atleast the 8th seed every year, but I can guarantee you that he would rather the 1st pick in the draft rather than the 8th and the 4th like the Knicks have been picking the last few years anyway when they were TRYING and I emphasize TRYING to just MAKE the playoffs and missed anyways.

It's time for a new guy to come in here and take control of the young talent that Isiah has assembled so that Isiah himself doesn't screw it up more by going out and acquiring crap talent and trading some of our assets.

Gee a whole post and thats all your calling me out on? Your losing your touch Fresh. j/k

I agree, Morrison is off to a rough start, but if you want to base players off there first 6 months in the NBA than Curry is nowhere close to a franchise player either. Morrison will be a top scorer in this league and he plays the wing position, he creates his own shots, just like other wings. Curry does not create his own shots, he has to be fed the ball in order for him to have ANY impact whatsoever on the game. Curry has been great, but he hasn't been DOMINANT both offensively and defensively, like you have to be when your a big and to be a considered a franchise player. Like it or not, 10 games doesn't make you a franchise player.

Sure Morrison has his flaws and there are numerous flaws at that, including his horrid defense, but no one has ever questioned his work ethic and attitude like they have questioned Curry's.I also find it funny that you only bring Morrison when I mentioned other players as well, is there any rhyme or reason to that?

Michael, read the following statements made by Isiah & compare them to what he was saying after Jalen & Mo T were bought out & when he responded to questions about whether or not the Knicks would be interested in going after Iverson... this is what i was talking about earlier w/the whole spin doctoring he does to explain everything as if he planned it all along... the trades to get Jalen, Mo T & Malik where he took on longterm contracts to acquire picks helped him put together the young core we have now, but the reasons he gives about those contracts being "valuable assets to have once they become expiring" to justify why he made those deals doesn't hold water when you see what he ended up doing w/those expiring contracts this season... the way he talks out of both sides of his mouth is what i think generates a lot of the distaste that many Knick fans have for this guy.

Nothing behind it..I just remembered you telling me that in another thread and I let you get away with it...I forgot the other names that was out there as well...Curry has been dominant at times...He can create on his own when he gets the ball in the post...Don't talk to me about defense when you know Morrison plays none...

Hey I even I said Morrison plays 0 defenese. None. Zippo.

Edited: Correcting myself Holfresh, you're right, I said "Sure morrison has his flaws" that was meant to include his defense and I didn't include. I'm editing the post now, to include it.

It would go a long way with fans if there was some true humility and contriteness--like saying we just went off the beaten path with the ending contracts gig and we probably threw the fans off when we should've showed some constraint and a clear path of what we are doing. But he will not do it--it's not him--not his character. He wants vindication--like he is right and the fans are wrong ha ha dolan give me another 50mm you schmucks:) it's me against these idiot fans and Im going to give them all a big fat F. And maybe he will

So let me get this straight, Isiah has assembled young talent, but somebody else must take credit for any Knicks success?

this is getting good

Isiah needs to acquire Morrison... to fill the void created when Keith Van Horn left.

Maybe you're just skimming my post. I also said the young talent that he has acquired can't be built around in efforts to win a championship. So in effect, me saying that someone should come in here and take control of the young talent that Isiah brought in, has nothing to do with how good OR bad the talent is. Curry, Frye, Lee, Nate are nice players to have on your team but they can't be built around and Isiah is trying to build around them. Ain't happenin.

You are so right. LB is 10 times more untrustworthy than IT has every been and yet, no one calls him a snake. IT is managing the media. Yes a lot of what he says in BS, but he is the GM. He cannot tell you what he really thinks. You think he is happy with Marbury and does not realize that he has to go. Of course he sees that, which is why he is sitting Marbury everytime he f--ks up. But he cannot go in the media and say "we need to get rid of Marbury." He is doing what is best for the team, and if that means not telling the truth about everything, then so be it. Some people complain that he has not acknowledged bad moves or accepted the blame for certain things, why the f--k would he acknowledge that. This is a young team on the brink of either falling apart or getting over the hump and finally becoming consistent. The last thing they need is their coach and GM talking about how it was a mistake to bring in this person or that person. IT is doing what he has to to give himself and the team the best chance to succeed this year.

Noone's calling LB a snake? Come on. That guy just spent an entire year being villified in NY and you are saying noone is calling him a snake?

Listen, I dont' care if LB is a snake or not a snake. I don't care if JVG was or wasn't. I dont' care if the guy 9 houses down from me is or isn't. I care if the people associated with our organization right now are. I dont' personally think Isiah is. But I do think he is a guy that doesn't tell the truth. NYer's want truth and if you are going to tell the truth you better be winning.
I just hope that people will like me

One thing often overlooked...Player development under Isiah...Harrington,Foster and O'niel all credit Isiah with their development....Didn't a guy name Artest make his mark under Isiah as well...Now we are seeing Curry excel under Isiah...Ah hell maybe its all a coincidence...
