Gag me with a spoon...... only thing that is funny is a season from now guys like you will encourage these players more then you discourage them with constance booing if Isiah is gone. WHile the "kool-aid" peeples still won't Boo the players for the coach they have or the owner or Larry Browns terrible season or missing some free throws..........

The thing about some "kool-aid" people who are ok with Isiah (or were for a while, even when he was getting blasted) and hated Layden is that the criticism took longer to build against Layden and the kinds of players who seemed to be all old "vets" who had zero potential for improvement.

I''m not saying I'm a huge Isiah fan either, but the idea to support him is that he got rid of guys like Spoon, Eisley, Shandon, Ward who represented all that people hated about Layden and brought in younger, more athletic players who may have had big contracts, "baggage" or bad reps (because that's what the pereception was you had to do in trades unless the Knicks "blew it up"), but still had some believing these players had potential, because of the talent -- mostly offensively.

Isiah was kind of like a social worker for the NBA. Always willing to give "outcasts" a shot, and I think that also appealed to people who like to see that kind of story develop a la Darryl Strawberry or Doc Gooden. Of course, it didn't go quite to plan, to say the least, and has led to all sorts of criticism, some justified, some maybe not so much, but I believe that's part of the major reason some had been/are willing to support Isiah vs. Layden even with the poor record.

These young Knicks will only improve with trust

The trust will come with playing together

No matter, win or lose, Isiah Thomas will always be The Debbil

I'm a Yankee season ticket holder.. I can root for a debbil just fine.

You seem to missing a key point. Knicks suck I mean the Knicks are the best 9-15 ever because they are young, so therefore will get better, so therefore are good, so Isiah is good, so we should all be happy.

I see the logic.

Stay tuned.

Hold UP

Fact: Knicks just got a key player healthy for first time this season

Faith: team will play better defense

Fact: Isiah drafted David Lee. Every one loves David Lee

Faith: in only his sophomore year, David Lee will get better

Fact: Channing Frye was good enough to draw attention from defenses last season.

Faith: 6'11 Frye (22), 6.95 Lee (22) and 6'11 Jeffries (along with the suddenly not-so-lazy-or-dumb 24 year-old 6'11 Eddy Curry) will learn how to win together as they mature

THAT is logic

That mr earl is one very selective page out of a long book of failed trades and signings.

Kinda like taking from the bible one or two phrases about slaves or men laying together and then declaring jesus hated homos and the bible said owning slaves was OK so therefore it is. If you choose to omit the whole picture and focus on what pleases you its not logic at all.

Whats Isiah's record since being here? Whats the combined record of the players he's brought in? Does winning count for anything?

Depends on what kind of logic we are talking about doesnt it?

stay tuned!

fishmike - I'm simply dealing with the present

Forget the awkward Bible analogy

If you want to re-hash the events that brought the Knicks to this stage, please don't omit the courting of George McGinnis in your research.

Knicks are presently 9-15 and only 4 teams are worse. The (recent) past is relevant because the Knicks current performance is consistant to previous performances under Isiah Thomas and of the players he's brought in before they became Knicks.
