Clearly Isiah doesn't know near as much as he thinks he does, and the avearge fan can tell you a few things that Isiah could not.....
1. Signing Jerome James was and still is one of the worst signings in the NBA and the history of the organization
2. Trading for Francis was going to be a disaster if you didn't plan on moving him
3. Targeting weak minds to play in one of the toughest cities in the world is not going to work
4. Players that don't work hard get chewed up in this city.......
So I really don't think Isiah has a clue, nor am I really impressed with his knowledge of the game, just because your a great player doesn't mean you know what it takes to build a contender......
Am I the casual fan going to make bonehead decisions like the Timberwolves, Hawks, and Knicks GM's probably not, you don't overvalue and give contracts or take contracts back from players that are losers.........
Do these people know more about playing the game, yeah without question......
But for Isiah to say the fans don't see what i see is another indication he is a classless fool, you can't **** up an organization quicker in a shorter period of time.....
WOULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED IF A KNOWLEDGEABLE FAN TOOK OVER
1. 6,000 less people every night in the building
2. Hatred throughout the NBA, the city, and the media for a team
3. Black balled from all networks, abc, tnt, espn for an entire year
4. Jerome James and Steve Francis
5. Paying for Anderson, Taylor, Rose, J. Williams all not on the team anymore
6. Paying for coaches Wilkens, Brown and handling the situation like a classless snake
You forgot a couple of other things that the average fans knows:
1. Rebuilding teams shouldn't trade away unprotected #1 picks.
2. Tripling the salary cap is not a good thing.
3. Siding with Marbury the coach killer and team cancer over the head coach is a bad thing.
4. Questioning the intelligence of the fans, who still bother to show up, is stupid.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
