We have no use for AI. Somehow, I think he'll be heading west. Maybe even to Minnesota.

that is true. they are not going to trade iverson to someone in the same conference let alone division. i CAN see them trying to pawn off webber and salambert with bubba but that is too much salary for a team to take. and to say iverson will help us is fools gold. our goal should be developing our young talent for a championship in the future. will iverson get us closer? no. he won't give us anything but playoff disappointment and thomas hanging araound more. i mean iverson is GREAT box office and beleive me when he is on he is unbelievable. however that is going away from a plan to get younger durable players which iverson is not. briggs, i am suprised that you agree with this trade when you have been preaching for years for the knicks to stay away from these type of players and get younger ones.

He won't take games over in the 4th and lead us to victory?

He may not be as good as he used to be but I guarantee you he will win us games and his D is far superior to Franbury's. He's always at the top of the leagues in steals

Yep................... Ai is a "head". And you have to live with Marbury or francis or the bad contracts they bring for the next three years anyway, might as get an superstar on the team.

See, the thing is, we do need a veteran guard that knows how to win, which AI absolutely is. AI is a much better "point guard" than all of ours except for Mardy Collins, but he doesn't fill our need for perimeter D enough - he's a mediocre defender that gambles.

The problem is we're in the same division as the Sixers and our contracts are even worse than theirs and they'll want our young guys.

I'm on the fence about Iverson. He's a great player but I feel like it would just be another starphuch move if he was brought here. Although looking at the contracts, he has the same 2 years left on his deal that Marbury does and Marbury isn't going ANYWHERE so AI would be huge improvement.

I would just look around and see what Marbury/Frye could net us right now, aside from AI, if a young player or expirings can be had then I would do that instead.

I never liked Iversons game throughout his career he has never allowed another player to play well next to him. He went to the finals one year but he basically did it all him self. I dont like players that do it all themselfs, I like players that play the right way and I jus never was a fan, he shoots too much and is too out of control, i dont see him ever winning a championship unless hes with a Garnet type player.. Even then i see friction.

that is true I always felt the same about Iverson but we desperately need someone who can take over games and guys like Lee, Balkman, Collins are nice complimentary pieces. I'd be worried about Curry regressing withb AI here though

Iverson, another scoring guard. He plays his ass off, but I am pretty sure he wouldn't get us much more over the hump than where we are. Plus, he's not young anymore. Pretty soon, all the nagging injuries will be catching up to him. I love the guy, and he's better than any player we have, but he wouldn't make us much a contender, and he's not gonna be at the top of his game as long as we all think. Hence, what's the point?

but people had the same questions about Carter like he was over the hill, injury prone, and look how that has turn out for NJ. I know guys like iverson and carter do not guarantee you a championship but one step at a time. Lets regain some respectability

the Sixers are not going to trade their franchise star to a divisional rival & there's no one on this roster they'd rather have over him as their PG, let's get that straight... Marbury, Francis, Crawford or Nate can't hold a candle to AI & it would make zero sense for the Sixers to take any of them over Iverson.

i think DEN would make a good match for AI.

Miller, Camby & Najera for Iverson & Dalembert might work

You can always give them Marbury, Nate, Frye and a pick for Inverson and then move Iverson for some young talent, I would have no problem doing that, perhaps to Minny for Randy Foye get them to take on someone like snacks

Or there are a ton of other teams out there that would take him, your not going to get equal value back, but if you can get rid of Marbury and get some young talent back I think you make the move.......

You still hold onto defenders like Collins, Lee, Q, Balkman, Jefferies to go with Curry and maybe you can get a young guard that scores and does a few things out there.....

we can? says who? Marbury, the same guy who everyone agrees is untradeable, is suddenly now going to be a centerpiece to get 1 of the best G's in the game? Frye & Nate don't get anyone excited anymore either... Philly would be much better off trading straight up w/MIN instead of making a trade w/the Knicks.

i think minny is the best destination and most logical. if philly trades then they are admitting to rebuilding. minny is a "win now" franchise that can't afford another losing season after making it to the conference finals three years ago. garnett needs major offensive help and ivy will provide it. but what can minny give up that is not named garnett for the sixers to want? well, anybody else on the roster and MD draft pickes, like two year first round picks. that is a major risk but they are desperate. denver is not as desperate with an improve josh smith at the sg. plus i do not think an answer/melo combination would mesh.

No way the Nuggets are trading Camby. That trade makes the Nuggets suck.

disagree... w/AI & Melo on the team, they'd be 1 of the most prolific scoring tandems in the NBA.

Rule #1 of the NBA: Don't trade a good bigman without getting a better one back.

What's their frontcourt without Camby? KneeMart, Nene who is oft-injured, Reggie Evans and Dalembert? Sorry, that won't cut it. Denver wants a championship. They're not going to condense everything into two players, one who is starting to slow and break down (Iverson), and destroy their frontcourt in the process. Only the Knicks would do something like that.
