This might be why............
Dream deal: Bring back Curry
Original '05 trade hasn't meant much for Bulls or Knicks

He's had good stretches of play before. I still think there are some fundamental flaws. I think we're seeing that Stevie and Steph are not the backcourt mates for him, and that Lee is the type of PF to put next to him.

We have a lot invested in Stevie and Steph and Frye and I think we either go in one direction or the other...

Curry never had 3 straight games of 20ppg last year. He is on 9 and counting. We havent had a guy score nine straight 20 plus games since H20 8 years ago. There are obvious differences in his game. His post moves are now polished sharp. His confidence is sky high. The drop steps, spins and left hands are working!
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

They have a shot at the Greg Oden or some other top TWO-WAY players to add to Ty Thomas. Where did you hear that they want to undo the trade? (from a newspaper reporter?)

Oden isn't coming out and the Knicks are making the playoffs. And, yes, I'm talking about their press, not Paxson.

how well is Curry actually doing? His defense is so bad that Jerome James is starting next to him.
Ignoring his 'slow' start in November here's Eddy:
Dec 21.6/7.9/58% FGs *** Knicks record 7-9
Jan 22.1/6.6/64% FGs *** Knicks record 7-8

Not to mention the fact that his +/- numbers are still in the red.

Now I think when you look at Lee/Curry together you have a pair of guys that will average 35 points, 18 rebounds and shoot 60% thats pretty good.

But people here are overvalueing him if you think he's the end all be all. Has he made us a better team? How successfull can we be with zero defense or rebounding from the center position? Is his scoring enough?

Tough questions. Add to it his work ethic is suspect to say the least. We have seen Eddy for 6 years and only in his lone contract year has he showed up in shape, and that year he took so many diet pills it screwed up his heart

you DONT trade Curry just to move him, but you certainly listen to offers. No player on a .400 team is untouchable. This guy isnt Shaq. He's a lot closer to Dampier on the other side of the ball, and thats my fear. Contract year Dampier is an elite rebounder, defender and shot blocker in the NBA. Non contract year he's just overpaid.

Also since Eddy's 'arrival' we have lost Frye. So long as EC is camped in the paint on every offensive possesion Frye will never be the player he can be either.

Eddy's 20 points and 58 FG% is impressive. Equally impressive are his 166 turnovers to 38 assists, his 26 blocks and his 7 rebounds per game.

You have to look at everything and ask the tough questions.

Whats the trade?

Its not working in Golden State with a couple of really good players and a decent coach? Why would it work in NY?

it would totally change our style of play. with dlee and biedrins - we not just outrebound teams, we outrebound teams by ALOT. plus both guy have motors. biedrins plays defense as does pietrus.

it's a tough call. but that's the type of deal we would have to investigate.

How can anyone look at a game like what Curry did in Orlando and still want to trade him? The guy is a dominant force. That behind the back pass to DLee? That's something you learn from experience, Curry looked a lot like Shaq on that play. I'm sorry, but the kid is a rare beast in the post.

He's dominated Bynum, Howard the last couple of weeks, not just beat, DOMINATED.

Get over it, he's good.

keeping him is fine with me. but we would need a MASSIVE overhaul at every other position to compliment him. that means a new shooting guard. and new point guard (that we'll need anyway), a new SF, and a new stud defensive PF. if you're prepared to trade alot of other guys on the team, then cool, but that's what it would take.

Well, Dlee shouldn't be going anywhere. I think Crawford can be our PG, I'd really like to see him get more and more minutes there. We do need a legit SF and a legit SG.

I think Curry, Craw and DLee are your building blocks, trade whatever else to get it done. I like Balkman, but I don't think he can start at SF, so if he can traded for a true starter, you have to do it. Frye, Nate, QRich and Jefferies should all be relatively tradeable.

we lead the league in rebounding now, or close to it. and then we'd have no post game. have you seen what this offense looks like without a post game? it isn't pretty.

however - I would trade Frye and Nate for Pietrus in a heartbeat.
