I'm okay with Frye for Gooden. I think Gooden is better than Frye, honestly, but it's one of those trades that I don't really see the point of making. If we improve, it's only a slight improvement. I agree with the above posters, that the Frye trade we need is the one that dumps one or two long term contracts.

what team is going to take on a 3 years 60mm$ contract for channing frye?

I agree, that would be tough... and at best, we're taking back a two year disgusting deal. That's not the contract I would dump. I would dump one of the contracts that go past '08-'09. We need to think towards the cap for the future.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

if zeke could lose his mind for one more trade, get pau gasol

Ownership is changing- been reading in WSJ about Brian Davis and Christian Latner putting together an offer. Evidently, they are short the deep pockets and might look to move someone like Gasol for a player that is cheaper. None of the coverage I read said they would look to move a player like Gasol.

I am not sure we have the players to match up an offer that saves them money- not at least now that we have bought out Mo T & J Rose.

If he trades with Miami, Cleveland, or Toronto he should be fired immediatly.

For one Lebron knows how to get people the ball and giving him somoene that is going to make an open jump shot is a terrible idea, we want those players to be miserable with their rosters so they leave hopefully.

Last year we were talking about Odom, Boozer, and Garnett for French Frye now we are talking about gooden no way

Marbury or Francis
Frye

for

Gooden
Snow
Marshall

(salaries are a basically a wash - you can add Collins to CLE & Wesley coming back to NY if the trade is for Marbury to even out the extra dollars)

C - Curry / Cato
PF - Gooden / Lee / Marshall
SF - Jefferies / Balkman
SG - Q Rich / Crawford
PG - Marbury or Francis / Snow / Nate
IA - Malik / Big Turd / (Collins or Wesley)

Actually not bad. Not sure Cleveland will do it, since they made a point of trying to get mostly character guys around LeBron, and Marbury is FAR from that, but then again, some could think that Z, Frye, LeBron, Hughes and Marbury could be a championship team. Hmmm... I think it could be a disaster, though, as Marbury just doesn't play well if he doesn't have the ball, Hughes also needs a good amount of touches, and of course, so does LeBron.

Too bad we can't go back in time and offer Frye in a package for Artest. I was against it at the time but it would have been a great deal for us.

If you even for one second could not detect the sarcasm in either of the posts, there is something wrong with you.

not too bad a trade, but I would want AT least 1 #1 pick. AT LEAST 1, maybe 2.

i doubt you could get them to give us a pick... convincing them to take a flyer on Marbury would be payment enough in my view... he could potentially be a bad influence in their lockerroom as well, but w/Lebron being the obvious man over there in CLE, Marbury will have no other choice but to fall in line & play 2nd or 3rd fiddle to the real star... i think just getting rid of him will help this team move forward & away from all the negativity surrounding the guy... Marshall & Snow are good veteran role players to have, so i don't think they'd have any problem fitting in on this team... & i think Gooden's a better player than Frye, so the tradeoff's in the Knicks' favor there also.
