CUrry had a great game. He had a few missed defensive assignments and was not as quick to help as he should have been, but he was definitely a positive factor in the game. The team defense is better than it was at the beginning of the season. IT just needs to keep working on getting the players to play competent team defense. This team looks much better than it did 15 games ago. If it improves over the next 10-15 games, we should be playing .500 ball at least and have a decent shot at the 8th playoff spot.

Just curious for all the pick and roll compaints. did the Raps out score us 56-22 in the paint or did we outscore the Raps 56-22 in the paint?
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I'm glad Eddy took what I said to heart. What an outstanding game from him tonight and it's starting to look like he might be able to do what he's doing consistently. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I want nothing more than for Eddy Curry to shut me up and be the exact opposite of what I think he is. If he finally realizes he can be a dominant force then he might just keep this up. I hope he does because it'll be absolutely HUGE for this franchise.

Yeah, good thing Eddy reads this forum, otherwise he'd never have had 6 straight 20 pt games and a dominate game like yesterday...

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

who gives a **** we lost

We lost but you see the progress with this team especially from the center position. We're still trying to find our identity a month into the season.

Despite the loss, it was the 1st time we witness production especially in the 4th quarter from the center position.

that's cause their big men would roll to the perimeter and have a wide open 15 footer. And they nailed them time after time after time.

Sorry I sold our Knicks short. We won the points in the paint battle 58-22 not 56-22. :)

Thats what I get for giving some props to "Half Offense/zero defense" Curry.

Hey that's nice. Upped his block count for the season to 7. Almost bursting into that 0.4 blocks per game range. HUGE. That's reality.

More reality: If he would have done the average blocking at the end of the game, he would have gotten 2 more rebounds and the Knicks could have actually beat a 1-7 road team. That's more reality.

Benard just refuses to acknowledge Curry doesn't even give half the effort on the other end. 03-04 Curry averaged 1.1blk and 6.2reb/gm the 06-07 Curry is averaging .37blk and 6.7reb/gm. The 03-04 Curry played 29.5min/gm and the 06-07 Curry plays 31.5min/gm. As we can see so far 3yrs have passed and Curry is still giving minimum to mediocre effort on the defensive end. The Curry that played yesterday was an eye opener. The Curry that has produced offensively the past several games is a dependable, reliable, anchoring player.

Very happy with Curry's 27 points and his 12 rebounds tonight - especially the rebounds because there weren't too many that just bounced to him. He was out there fighting for the majority of the ones he pulled down.

However, I still thought Curry was pretty bad tonight. He doesn't play any defense whatsoever. On the man he's supposed to be covering or in the lane. I didn't watch him contest, alter or block a single shot. (Well, he did, but to a ridiculous small amount of them.) It's not his post, it's whoever decides to drive on that possession's post. The Raptors drove in at will and were just fouled every time. For all the points he scores, he more than makes up for them with his terrible defense.

He's crazy slow, often looks confused and makes stupid mistakes. I happened to notice Q and Francis yelling at him on separate occasions.

Wish he would get himself into shape and learn how to play some defense.

I don't think Shaq could ahve played defense against the raptors with their outside shooting centers. Thats clearly a mismatch because the raptor centers are more like sfs.

1. Curry is no Shaq. Shaq has career averages of 12 boards and 2.5 blocks. I'm sure he would have held his own.
2. Mismatches for this game, fine. This isn't exactly the first game Curry has provided lackluster defense.

Curry is no Shaq.

he's definitely not... & he never will be, so we shouldn't be holding our breathe on him ever to become Shaq... that way you'll begin to appreciate what Eddy CAN do to help this team win games... he's an offensive weapon in the low post that opens up the offense for other players... if he can improve his passing out of the post, he can be an Allstar calibre player... his defensive skills & shotblocking will never be instinctual the way it is w/other dominant C's of the past like Russell, Olajuwan, Ewing, Shaq, etc... those guys are HOFers... all these lofty expectations you guys seem to have for Curry to live up to is preventing you from seeing what he does do well, & that's scoring in the low post... he's an improved player from last season, & if he continues to progress, he'll be a nice piece to have for the longterm vision for this franchise... even after 3 more years of development on his game, he'll still be a young 26 years of age... why everyone is so down on him is beyond me when the guy's only 23 years old & still learning the game.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
