Why? Because it's just another gross example of how poorly constructed this team is. I'm the one that has been saying for months that this team was made up of uncomplementary players.

That's hardly a revelation.

It's a consequence of working for an owner who hires a GM to preside over a team that is burdened by both a talent deficit and cap inflexibility, and then tells the GM that he can't rebuild, but instead must make the playoffs that year.

Never said it was a revelation. Just why I think it's funny.

Then why have we heard Isiah say over and over again, for over a year, that they're rebuilding? That's some, supposed, edict if Isiah can publicly go against it.

And don't say that it was only that first year that Isiah was working under that horrible edict. You're going to tell me that after actually making the playoffs that year that Dolan suddenly backed off and said, "You know what, I've been unfair, it's ok if we don't make the playoffs. You can rebuild now if you want to."
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Its funny that nobody thinks it's Frye.

Why? As his absence has demonstrated, his skillset doesn't compliment Curry's, which as dj and others have pointed out is a large reason for Curry's emergence, not the reason you gave on another thread.

I think Curry's emergence is due to IT forcing the guards to give him the ball more and the team putting Curry in a position to be able to score with 1 or 2 quick moves. At the beginning of the season, he would get the ball in the post and spend 8 seconds trying to back his man down, which ususally resulted in a turnover or an offensive foul. Now he just catches the ball and makes an immediate decision as to what he is going to do. Plus, his passing out of the post has improve tremedously from the start of the season. The only impact Frye might have had is that the team now only has one bigman low post scorer so they are forced to feed Curry a little more that if they could also go to Frye, but I think that is a minor reason for Curry's emergence. The Knicks are just using Curry better and Curry has gotten better since the beginning of the year.

Not this year but for next year. KMART. He has thoughness that the team needs and since he has a disgusting contract he will fit right in with the Knicks. And another perfect senario is that you get to rid yourself of Marbury for him.

they wont give him up and he's to close to curry anyway. What the Knicks need to find are players who fit the mold that we need and can be viably traded for. I don't think it's in our best interests to go out looking for a player who makes 10mm $ that has been recycled. Guys like Hilton Armstrong or Turriaf make the most sense--why

becauyse they have done it at high levels in college-they have shown great samples in the SL AND in the NBA--they cant get run because they have to many guys making to much jack in front of them. They are both 6-10+ and can block shots from the 4 position. They are both active mobile defenders

In faqct I wouldnt MIND getting both if we could--you need 4 bigs--but I REALLY DO think we can target 1 and execute a trade. We also NEED to find a player who can crate ball pressure --is that mardy collins--we won 23 games last year give him a chance if not go find someone else but we have to move ONE of our guards we cannot go with steve marbury crawford and nate one of those guys have to go --bottom line

I agree and would like to add..

He looks confident (and braun at times )

First off, he's getting great position and not lowering the shoulder.

He's not bringing the ball down by his chest and limiting his pump-fakes (you're 6'11" EC, act like it)

His conditioning looks MUCH better- he's simply not laboring and hacking because he's too lazy/tired to move his feet.

Rebounding, rebounding, rebounding..

Neither one of those players you mentioned Briggs would be available.

NBA gm's want to keep young talented players on rookie contracts for depth.

The eddy curry free agent signing killed any opportunity to get the greg odens in the draft. Giving up 2 #1 for curry is what we got, this is why curry has to be more than what he's showing us.

We need him to get blks and reb more, if anyone needed an incentive in their contract it's curry.

You get (avg)10 or more rebs a game you get another 1,000,000,000 dollars.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

What about Emeka Okafor. Charlotte is gonna have to start paying people real soon with May and Felton in 2 years and Okafor after this year. They probable will have to choose between Okafor and May and might choose to keep the UNC guys together!

Frye and Mardy Collins for Okafor???
Frye and Nate for Okafor???

Marcus Camby would be the ideal player. runs the floor... shot blocker... outside shooter... rebounder.

That should be the ideal model that we're looking for around him. I think that's what IT was going for with Balkman, except that he's at the 3.

I feel like you'd be better off getting an athletic center and then having Curry play more like the 4 on defense.

Maybe Darko would work, but it would be tough to get him.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i want a veteran who knows how to rotate on defense & isn't afraid to throw his body in there to draw charges, block shots, rebound & be an enforcer a-la Charles Oakley... playing another young, inexperienced player with the "potential" to be a rebounding / shotblocking presence" next to Curry doesn't work, as we all saw in Chicago when they had Curry & Chandler playing alongside one another.

a guy who i'd target who's realistic is Etan Thomas... otherwise i'm fine w/letting David Lee develop next to Curry & target a backup C or PF who can block some shots... someone more mobile than Cato or Big Turd who can run the floor w/the second unit.

This sorta goes back to what Stephen A was saying before the season started: we need a bulldog. Someone who's mean enough to be an enforcer, defend our basket, and just get in people's faces and scare them but at the same time has the right attitude.

Sadly, those types are few and far between in today's game.

Frye is the best PF next to curry.

Once he get's accustomed to playing defense in the nba, he's got the zone down perfect and his help defense was coming along superbly before he got reinjured.

He's a shot blocking jump shooter that compliments curry

it's funny that we've all given up completely on Jerome James.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

i think you need to have believed in someone to begin with to have given up on them... only the most ardent optimists on this forum thought Big Turd could actually be a positive signing for the Knicks... the rest knew the guy was pretty much the scrub that he is.

I'm telling you, PJ Brown, Kurt Thomas, Kenny thomas, Darko Milicic, All are guys who defend, shoot a jumpshot and rebound next to Curry. Plus we could get any of them for a song.
