I like the Balkster. He's the type of player this team needed.
The jury is still out on Marcus Williams. Remember when Steph was a hot PG prospect? Marbury has turned me off to scoring PG's. I think Mardy Collins might eventually get a chance to be a heady floor general for us one day. Who knows?
And what if another team
did take Balkman? There'd be a thousand second-guessers on this site saying: "See, this is the kinda guy Isiah
should've taken instead of taking a scoring PG when we already had tons of them. Why can't we get steals like that?"
Yeah, I think Balkman was a steal. Maybe I'm a fool, but I really think that.
In a league where scorers are a dime a dozen, and the new rules and the new ball totally favor scoring -- guys that can make a difference off the ball with their hustle and defense are at a premium.
So I leave you with this one question...
When we need energy, when we need stops, when we need a guy who will do whatever it takes to win --- WHATCHA GONNA DO, BROTHER!?!?! WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THE BALKSTER RUNS WILD ON YOU!?!?!?!?!
