I mean how does a beat writer put into print what conversations have been held behind closed doors concerning the media? The fact Marbury has told him this and that he printed it speaks volumes of how bad the situation is. If I was on this team I couldn't trust not one soul.

as a former newspaper reporter (don't laugh) I gotta say its fairgame for Isola to let this stuff be known. You don't think Marbury said "hey, Frank, off the record, they told me not to talk to you."

No. Isola probably caught wind of this in 10 different ways from 10 different sources. He's around the team all the time. Something like that is probably pretty well known.

The way I see it, it the organization is going to try to make Frank's work more difficult, than they asked for it. Fck em. Plus, showing how stupidly run the organization is and how misguided it is in its dealing with the medai, emblematic of its dealings in other arenas, is relevant to the team, it's relevant info for the fans. I wish more of this kinda stuff was reported.

Yeah but you can tell Frank has been holding on to his bullets. If Marbury is ever let go you have to think there is some really brutal material that's of the unknown still.

i think marbury was basically a mouthpiece for isiah last year vs. brown. isiah went into hiding for the final 2 months of the season yet marbury kept yapping without any repricussions. if isiah told marbury, who is his boy and lives 2 doors down from him, to stop talking to the press, then he would have. isiah enabled him and enabled the mess last year.

isiah is a snake. he got it turned on brown. i don't think he expected to be the coach of this team (remember billy donovan up here last year?). and now isiah knows steph is public enemy #1 and isiah is not going to let steph bring him down. so he's flipping the script on marbury and hanging him out to dry. do you think goes down if francis isn't here? damn man, isiah is f'n smart.

it's some SHADY stuff man. and isiah needs to go the same day steph does.

i can't prove this but i think Isiah tried to assassinate Reagan back in '81 to distract the NBA fans from the fact that Isiah wasn't going to be in the draft that year.

it IS shady, and here is what I think may be worse: Dolan TOLD Isiah he had to get Marbury AND get the Knicks to the playoffs ASAP. Total FUBAR from top to bottom.

how funny would that be that it was dolan that wanted steph and that's why isiah has gone balls to the wall for him...b/c steph was dolan's boy? probably not true but that would be crazy.

Im thinking this is a likley situation. Look, the fact is Layden was working on this trade. Im not saying it was laydens idea, but I can imagine stern might have brokered such a trade to ease any fears Sarver had when they were trying to buy the Suns. They were able to clean up the payroll situation and let the new ownership decide if they wanted to take on Nash, let go of Joe Johnson, etc. I think the sale of the Suns was a record and Sterns buddy Colangelo made out nice. Its the Sterns job to help the owners and he does a good job increasing team value.

I did breath life (AKA: once again, "Starphuching")into the knicks at the time. Perhaps it was thought that with Isiah playing Stephs big brother he could reform him in his own image. I think Isiah tried, even got him the Olympic gig!

Yeah DJ, I think this has Dolans drool all over it. Dolan also has sided with Isiah repetingly in hopes to keep his integrity intact.

The rest we know all too well.

Its all just a bit history repeating.......

I don't think Dolan cared about Steph per se. I think he cared about adding a supposed superstar because he wanted to sell tickets from the first round of the playoffs.

T-shirt sales is one reason Dolan would have cared about Steph over another allstar. Steph also puts fannies in seats. Home grown boy.

I think this is pretty presumptive stuff to think up about somebody. I guess it could be true but, really, who knows what the hell is going on?

But, what is obvious is that I'm finding it harder and harder to like Cablevision and MSG anymore. It's a huge corporation that operates with unethical business practices and treats its employees like crap. As oppossed to the Lakers who're run by a family. The Knicks are my team, but I don't know man, i don't know...

bro, ur in rare form today... another one for the masterpiece collection.

as for dj's theory, i really don't even want to consider any more reasons, excuses or anything else when it comes to Stephon Marbury... he's been a horrible addition to this franchise, & for the past year & a half he's been playing like garbage... this year he himself said he was revitalized & refreshed, ready to start on a new leaf w/a completely new outlook & a new attitude... please... it's the same ol' crap every year.

Marbury is our franchise player, plain and simple. If Isiah has to go, so be it.

On another note, Isiah's been getting way too much credit for drafting Lee, Nate and Frye. It was Steph who begged for them.

To get Marbury to work in NY we have to trade the coach, 11 other players, and the fans. But we have got to keep the towle boy. Something tells me him and Steph ar BFF's!

"I don't have a concern about (Marbury's) mind-set. My job, if I'm going to lead this team, is to make sure that we conform and act as one. And when you're not acting as one, I'll make sure you understand that it's the Knicks and it's not a solo act."

Thomas was asked if he felt Marbury was out of line Saturday when he didn't take a single shot, and therefore spent most of the second half on the bench. The coach declared that if anyone deviates from his team-oriented principles, there would be a price to pay.

"If there was any doubt in any player's mind, I'm sure that's clear and been cleared up," he said, "and I'll make sure I keep reinforcing what I want. Make no mistake about it: If I don't get exactly what I want, then there will be consequences for it."

Does anyone REALLLY have a problem with that point of view?
