I actually agree with this. With Shaq hurting, the Heat need another dependable scoring option and Riley recently voiced his displeasure with Antoine Walker. With Shaq's knee injury, who knows how he will return on the court. I think Riley knows this current team only has about 2 years of running time left after this year, so acquiring Marbury would be a perfect fit because when his contract is up, it's likely Shaq could retire and they could let Marbury walk and then build the team fully around Wade.

marbruy's trade value is very low, several on this board have stated how untradable he is, and that seems to be the general feeling everywhere. it does make sense for the heat to move walker and maybe even williams, but for marbury? i dont see why they would give up that much for a player who could get cut in a few months. this trade for francis could work though.

I can't see the knicks just cutting Marbury. The package of players the Heat would be offering is not that desirable, especially if it includes A. Walker. Someone said it before- Shaq will probably play 2 more years, which means Shaq & Marbury expire at the same time. I could see the Heat taking on Marbury.
Knicks need this trade so they could just concentrate on B-Ball and not this ongoing soap opera.

I mean the line-up the knicks could put out is much more balanced and even though Walker is not the ideal player to get back, he'll help out with Frye out. He's also a Chicago guy which knows what Isiah is all about.
Potential line-up when everyone is healthy:
Pg: Francis, J. Williams/Crawford Sg: Q-Rich, Nate/Crawford Sf: Jefferies,Crawford/Balkman Pf: Walker, Lee C: Curry, Frye
