no, it's not the same thing... signing or trading for veteran players w/overpaid, longterm deals is not nearly the same as taking a 1 year cap hit to acquire a 1st round draft pick w/which you obtain a talented young player who has the upside & growth potential for this franchise over the longterm... if Isiah's done nothing else, he's drafted well for this franchise... i'm all for moves where he gets more draft picks because most of his positive moves are centered around them.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Rich - would you call a plot of land with young sprouts a failure?

Let them grow

If the soil they were planted in was subject to being repossessed by another farmer (i.e., the Bulls have our 1st rounder), YES>
LOL, That is teh worst analogy I've ever seen. I understand you are trying to work in the lost first rounder last year, but how does that equal,"repossessing the soil" Nate/Frye/Dlee/Bman/Collins is "planted" in????

WTF did I even type.........LOL.

Wow Dlee and QRIch aren't even counted as in the plan because they can't be lumped in with the players mentioned...........wow.
Knicks don't have an prototypical Point(alot of teams don't) and they don't have a good shooting 2Guard(Alot of teams don't). All that other typing was unneeded!!!!!!

In order to maintain the parallelism, I needed a soil analogy to extend his sprouts analogy.
