SMH, why should the "imbilical cord" be cut with Curry???? Can the man get a fair shake at a full season before you throw him away like Marbury???

Whenever Curry has a good game(which is about every 6 games or so) we hear this. Until he starts having games like last night on a consistent basis, he's still an overweight underachiever.
I've been saying this after the bad games too. The guy deserves a full season to see where he is. He can't have nights like last unless he plays correct???? Am I missing something, where is the beef with what i said???

He's had 5 full seasons in the NBA and hasn't changed a bit since he came into the league; he's actually regressed. Bill Parcells has always said: "You are what you are" and Eddy Curry is a overweight 23 year old center who could be a dominant player but he's not and he's shown NOTHING of changing that.

anji - some people would rather totally give up on a 23 year old player with no college experience, than see how his career develops...

a positive game is not a signal of hope, it another opportunity to bash Curry for nmot being an all star sooner

all players are not created equal

fish.mike - I would submit that an NBA player generally matures at 26.

Curry is three years away.

Lazy?

Based on what evaluation?

Because he is trying to find his way, learn the officials and develop some rhythm with his new team mates?

Lazy?

Was he doing that all 4 years in Chicago too?

I don't think it's laziness, I think what it is is that Curry doesn't understand how to play a lot of aspects of the game. He keeps making the same mistakes in the post, despite clearly having an array of moves to go to (he's shown a jumper and baby hook at times this year, but never seems to know WHEN to use them). it's the same on defense - he can block shots, he can rebound, he just doesn't seem to know how and when to position himself. I'm hoping he's just a slow learner rather than a never learner, but the jury is going to be out on him for a while.

Lee is playing fantastic ball off the bench. Why tinker with that? Both Isiah and Clyde said Lee might get exposed if he is placed into the starting line-up which I agree with to an extent.

Placing Lee in the starting lineup could result in early foul trouble(being that he would have to start off on the starting Pf's of the league) and his change of pace/burst of energy off the bench is a big plus for us. As long as he can get 26-28 mins per, he's fine.

Is Lee a better fit next to Curry than Frye? Absolutely. Lee is a glue guy, he would fit better next to any supposed scorer or interior player. He's also the type of player that can still get it done off the bench. I doubt that Curry would be effective comming off the bench being that his ego is already very fragile.

I agree, big beast, for now. Lee still needs to play at least 30 minutes a night off the bench.

nyk4ever - Eddy Curry is 23.

He's been with the Knicks for a little over one... yes ONE.. full season.

If he was with the Bulls for four seasons, that makes him the ripe old age of 18 when he started as a profesional.

Would it be possible that basic maturity hasn't quite kicked in yet?

Or that he is still learning the nuances of his craft?

Or that he's shown enough evidence that he can produce when afforded the right game planning and execution?

Then again, the same people that call Eddy Curry lazy here, reached the peaks of their profesional careers at 23.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

How is Lee going to get exposed playing against the starters when he destroys them in the 3rd and 4th quarters with the game on the line???? Makes zero sense to me.

I don't mind keeping Lee out of foul trouble and having him control the second, third and fourth quarters right now. I think it's a mistake to break up the bench. They've been fantastic.
