I'm a huge Stephon fan and thought he was going to rescue us from being a crappy team but he is playing like crap. He needs to go. I'd wait for a few more weeks before I start calling him an all out bench warmer.

ditto. I don't know whats going on with him. I'm holding out hope, but I know hes playing sucky and I know Im not feeling good about it.

marbury gets no sympathy votes from me. the dude's head looks totally out of it. like after he said he was going to be more aggressive, he puts up 16 points on 6-16 shooting. then follows that game up with 3 stinkers. all is not right in the marbury world and i see his career almost over. i think if he gets released, he will no longer play bball and he definitely won't play after this contract is up.

Here is a worthy gamble. Start giving Collins some minutes. IF he performs ok, then take away a bit of Marbury's minutes.

Look at how Lee is playing, only one year out of school. Collins was picked at about the same place, was formerly talked about being a lottery pick, he has the chance to give this team something (defense and hard work) that we are not getting with Marbury (right now anyway). A more direct challange might help things as Collins is Clearly a point guard.

Butout, I mean buyout, sounds good though. With Curry, I think cut his minutes and don't make the offenst run through him. See if he comes around.

I don't think there is any avenue to trade him. I PERSONALLY believe there are multiple teams who would be willing to use a 3-5 yr MLE on steph. The Knicks and the team willing to give steph that contract could make a deal under the table. Give Steph 25-30mm and the MLE purchase picks up the rest. Marbury is a destabilizing force right now and it will only get worse.

& then we move on without him, much like every other NBA team he's ever played for has to positive results... i'm pretty sure 1 of the other G's on this team can average those 11 points & 5 assists that he's putting up right now without breaking much of a sweat if given the starting PG role.

this guy is just a dark cloud hanging over this franchise right now... get rid of him & hand the reigns over to Jamal & Nate... let's give the kids a real chance to jell over the long haul.

Stephon Marbury isn't "a dark cloud hanging over the franchise," and if the TEAM played better defense, they might win a few more games. I said TEAM, and there is no "I" in team.

There is no possible way you can blame one individual for the failures of a basketball team. But go ahead and do it, if it helps you sleep better at night.

You don't buyout your highest paid player. That is insane and it would only add to the label of being the joke of the NBA, which the Knicks had/have become.

I don't want anything to save Isiah Thomas.

Hate to break it to you but the team did buy our Jalen. He was making like a couple of thousand less than Marb is this year.

He does have a dark cloud over him, he sold his soul at a young age never learned to be a man and grow up on and off the court until LB came and challenged him. All he wanted to know was street and the hood and selling skips to kids who likes sneakers.

He should have never left KG , I believe that's when his misfortunes started

Now zeke is trying to coddle him and tell him what Larry Brown was trying to tell him but in a kinder way. The knicks are in a funk and until the skunk is removed we will continually stink.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Martin, you and I both know there was a difference in the buyout of Jalken ROse and a buyout of Marbury.

Nice try, though.

Wow. I can't belive we're ready to give up on Marbury.

Someone mentioned something about running more pick and rolls for Marbury. From what I remember him and Kurt Thomas used to be pretty good at this. If only we had a forward with a shooting touch....

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

Oh yeah. Frye.

I think trading Marbury for cents on the dollars makes no sense. He has too much talent for him to keep on playing like this.

That being said he seems to be a headcase. I went to the Celts game this past Saturday and since the game itself was UGLY (save for the first few minutes) I started to focus on Marbury. There were a ton of posessions that went like this:

Crawford brings up the ball. Passes to Marbury. Marbury passes it to someone else.

For the rest of the shot clock it's Nate and Crawford repeatedly driving and dishing to each other with Marbury standing on the opposite side of the court. Completely still. So much for the motion offense.

I watched this happen and lost count of how many possessions went by with what looked like Marbury being completely frozen out of the offense. Maybe there's something going on in the locker room that hasn't come out yet. I thought everything had been relatively smoothed over after watching Q and Marbury interact during one of our wins.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I wached all games this season and this is my impression on Marbs:
He thinks that he is a Star and all the other guys on the team are there to do the dirty work and if they refuse to clean up after him he is getting pissed.
I think Q is close to blow out, Lee and Fry are young players and nice people to show it in his face, and Nate is just insulting him the way he plays - he is doing the same things but his energy, effort, and attitude are just anti-Marbs.
IT will need to decide soon - lose his body Marbs or lose this team... and his job.

I wouldn't give up on Marbs yet. I'm pretty convinced it's him trying to be a good docile PG like most y'all wanted last year. I highly doubt that all of a sudden he is done and has no speed, hops or anything. Interesting thing about this board is that there were pwople that were ready to trade Frye for 3 or 4 million in cap space just like a week ago.

i really could care less at this point how it makes this franchise look by buying out this guy... how much worse could the Knicks possibly look at this point anyway?... first they hedge all their bets on this career loser & notorious team cancer & expect him to be the franchise, then they make nonsensical trade after nonsensical trade to try & surround him w/guys like Jalen Rose & Steve Francis w/o any backup plan in place to trade those guys for players that could actually help this franchise, & then they buy out their HOF coach after 1 season because he knew that guys like Marbury, Francis & Rose were being negative influences on the rest of the team.

& who the hell said i was blaming Marbury for all the failures of this basketball team? when you're done putting words into my mouth, maybe you'll read my posts the way they're written instead of inserting your own interpretations into it... i don't know how any Knick fan could possibly deny that Marbury's presence here has cast nothing but a negative cloud over this franchise for the past few years... he's clashed w/teammates & coaches, he's made idiotic comments to the media, & over the past 2 seasons he's played like garbage... the reason he's getting booed now by the NY fans is because everyone is growing tired of his act... they want to see him play well & put his money where his mouth is... it has nothing to do w/the team winning or losing games right now... NY fans don't boo players that give their all on the court & represent the Knick uniform the right way... look at how they greet David Lee & Nate everytime they come onto the floor... let's see Marbury give his blood, sweat & tears on the floor like those guys do every game & i'll be the first guy leading the applause for the guy.
