Bip, we have 2 dyndamic duos that need to be slit up and I agree. In fact, I just think we need to rid ourselves of either Marbury or Francis, b/c I see the chemistry completely messed up when they are in, let alone when they are both in but something realistic, to me, seems like:

Curry
Lee
Jared
Quentin
Marbury

If I were the coach though, I'd make Nate the starter b/c he's earning time too and it would be shameful to see him rot on the bench, when Jared gets back, and Francis and Marbury are still "learning the offense."

I feel like JJ would help, but team defense is what matters in the end. Even if you put one really good defensive guy out there, w/out everybody else doing their part, he will not make much of a differene.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Even if the chemistry was perfect and they were playing A + ball the duo still doen'st make sense to me. It's so redundant with the four guards. We can make a quantum leap by trading one of these two for someone with a motor, up front. Or a perimeter stopper. We don't need all this offense in the back court. We don't need to hate the guys to make a trade that makes us better.

So I know the numbers you gave were decent, but you still believe Jared can be a consistent defender at the power foward position, guarding the J. Oneals, Dwights, Rasheeds and Nenads of the East? I know he's tough, but he's mad skinny and I just don't know if I can consistently rely on him at that position (Maybe he does better than Frye, but who can't).

Again, I just think it comes down to getting rid of Marbury or Francis or both, so that you can shift Q to the 2 and Jared at the 3, both at positions they are highly comfortable in. If the 2s are too quick for Q, then work from there.
nobody stops the stars in this league. But if you can make them work harder it can impact a game. JJSkinny will be great against the tweener PFs that you see so often. The Marions, JAmison, Walker, Drew Goooden, etc.
The bruiser types will give him a harder time, but those are also the guys that Frye matches up better with. I think JJ can really help. Hopefully he inspires the other guys to defend.

See, I don't think it's possible for the 2 to play their best ball together, at the same time. They both play best when the ball is in their hands A LOT, meaning when they are dominating it and doing their thing with the ball. Hard for both players to do that at the same time, and hard to get the chemistry to work when that's happening. It just doesn't make sense. I think they can both be really solid pieces to winning teams, but not the way they are participating now.

You're right, trade them for a shotblocker/banger and maybe find a true PG to trade for, but be patient.

Is it any wonder that the two guys that have shunned the most coaches are struggling the most with a team system. You and I are in aggreement we don't need both of these guys. We have more pressing needs that can instantly improve this team.
