Posted by Silverfuel:Posted by BlueSeats:hate to jump in like that B but if they can come back from 6, they can come back from 8. The 2 points with 2 mins to go didn't make or break he game. That bull**** call on Nate pissed me off too. I think Zeke might have made a point last night, that our young guys deserve some calls or non-calls. I didn't see the play well enough to know how much outburst was warranted, but I know I'd prefer my team to have a 6 pt deficit to overcome in 2 mins than 8. That said, I find your position more defensible than oohah's, which by logical extension says that our coaches might as well just head to the locker room and default on games that we are down 6 with 2 mins to go to prevent injuries since until we get a Tmac or Reggie we don't have a chance in hell of winning the game. |

Posted by islesfan: They cut the deficit from 20 to go up by 1 then they were down around 8-11. They shot their load with the comeback. That was the game I was watching. Did you observe something different? I think you are playing devil's advocte to the max. They were going to lose. Obviously. oohah [Edited by - oohah on 19-11-2006 11:25 PM] Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

So only teams with Kobe, Wade, McGrady and Carter can come back from a 6 pt deficit with more than 2 minutes left and the ball? It was 2 min left, and the Knicks just had a call go against them, then IT got the tech. So only teams with Kobe, Wade, McGrady and Carter can come back from a 6 pt deficit with more than 2 minutes left and the ball? I see you have totally reversed your opinion on what this team is and can do, or is it only for the sake of argument? oohah Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Posted by oohah:Posted by islesfan: Down around 8-11?? They were down 6 with the ball. No need to play devil's advocate. It's an absolutely ridiculous statement to say that the game was already over when Isiah was called for the 2 technicals. I can't believe that I'm even arguing this. If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I didn't see that post but the moral of this point... a game is never over until it's over. Didn't the Grizzlies almost beat this team in what appeared to be an insurmountable defecit? Seatsblue, that is why I said the Techs were dumb, because obviously there was a theoretical chance of a comeback. But the way the KNicks were not exectuting and the Celtics were + hitting their free throws, the game was over. To say different is really just playing Devils advocate. By the way, I think it ain't over until it is over is really more applicable in baseball. In basketball, it is often over before it is over, like when we blew out Miami, or that SJU game the other day. oohah Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
